Mirrormask: Fighting the Demons Inside

Just watched the extremely trippy movie, the Mirrormask based on the book by Neil Gaiman. It is free on Demand if anyone has it. I am very glad I watched it cause I got confirmation on something really important tonight. I write this in effort to help others get the same confirmation.

This half cinematic/computer graphic animation movie, is about a teenage girl dealing with the almost death of her mother, while in a dream like state. The White Queen and Dark Queen in the land represent her mother and the teenage girl, Helena also has a light and dark side.

This movie is truly my story, although her battle ends with a happy ending between her and her mother. Mine not so much.

Helena is a circus performer in her parent’s circus. She is going through the typical stage of being a teenager and wishes to rebel against her family. Her mother gets a sudden headache and falls to the ground. After the ambulance take her away, we learn that there is a need to operate on her.

During all this Helena falls asleep and dreams of her internal struggles between her mother and coping with her mother’s sudden sickness. The world is completely strange and she must seek out a mirrormask in order to wake the White Queen that has fallen into a coma. Within this world, Helena meets her possible future self or “evil side” that falls into further rebellion and anger at the world for losing her mother.

Death can make many people face their strongest demons inside, but as the Quran states:

3:185 Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion.

So it is not about the tragedy and loss we all go through in life, it is about HOW well we deal with the experience. Everyone will die, that is one the few things certain in this world. But if you die with hate, malice, or evil towards yourself, others and God in your soul that can cause an issue in your consciousness that lives on, according to the Quran here:

2:154 And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah , “They are dead.” Rather, they are alive, but you perceive [it] not.

This is deep wisdom given to show that this life is not the end.

So in Mirrormask, we see that Helena’s greatest challenge was to overcome the desire to lash out at the world because of her loss. That was her internal battle, her “jihad”.

There are outward and inward jihads, which is arabic for a spiritual war that one must fight through in order to gain spiritual advancement. Some people may see this as a physical war between the oppressed and the oppressors, but I see things more symbolically and see more how it relates to the inside battle between good and evil. Not everyone is a solider of war, or chooses to be in their experience. But we alway go to battle for God, in a sense.

I guess, I have to be proud of myself. I lost my mother to the exact same thing that Helena’s mother had. However, after the third operation on the brain tumor growing in her, her body could not take it any longer and she died late in the middle of the night close to Mother’s Day.

She was the greatest person I knew. Truly an amazing person with so much love to give others. She was my soft embrace in a sometimes cold world. She left me to grow up with an unsympathetic stepmother and angry father.

I fought hard to not become a cold, and heartless person. It is easy to turn away from God and see life as meaningless after you lose someone so close to you. But that IS the battle. We have these experiences that happen naturally and in accordance to Laws set by God, in the aftermath of those experiences is where we are tested.

21:34 Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned.

I passed. I decided to seek for further evidence of life after death and higher consciousness. I decided to help others, and use my experience to help bring peace and love about God, in other’s hearts. I passed! I submitted to Light and God, and my ego and dark parts of myself didn’t control my outward actions.

I too found the “mirrormask” to show me the truth of the reality of being able to choose the type of person I would become.

I am 34 now, my mother passed away almost 20 years ago, and STILL it is a hard thing to deal with..especially with my wedding coming soon. But I can honestly say that even though I miss with her with my entire being, I do not hate, am not angry, and have forgiven her for leaving me when needed her as a teen.

This world or universe is not a dark chaotic place to me. It is a beautiful expression of the battles between good and evil, expansion and constriction of the soul. Everything has a higher purpose that we can not understand, even death. The Quran never tells WHY people die when they do, but it is a known fact that everyone will die.

We are each given our time accordingly and FAIRLY because I believe in a just God that has shown justice throughout history. There is no unfairness in accidental or natural death, it simply is the time of that person to go on to new beginnings and the body stops breathing. Yet, the soul moves on.

Murder and life taken by another soul, is altogether a different story. And they too will be judged accordingly when they eventually die. That murder will be played out in front of them when they reach the Higher Order of Angels and God on their day of resurrection.

But in talking about murder, let’s look at this experience objectively as well. If someone murdered someone you loved, it is your choice to start to hate God and create chaos for others. Or you could make the choice to use that experience to help others. Through tragedy the gift of compassion and empathy is given. I would not want the battle of having to learn to forgive my loved one’s murderers. But it needs to be done, or else the soul doesn’t rest comfortably. Sometimes the battles given to us, are given to us for a reason that only God can understand. So take your duty seriously while here, and do the best you can.

Wisdom with forgiveness is key.  It is the sword that which you can slay those inner demons with.

If you find yourself mad at the world because of a tragic event, take a look deeper into your “mirrormask” and see purpose of your own trials and who is the stronger soul you are supposed to become.

You are judged on your good and evil actions, not how many scars you have while going through this life.

Why Did I Become a Muslim.

Perhaps this is only information for me to keep to myself. But seeing the way the world is the way it is, I feel it is our intentions on revealing the truth that will lead us out of the lies and illusions of this world.

Many times I ask myself deeply, why do I even label myself as a muslim?  I after all, am not ethnically from this region of the Middle East, Africa, or Asia where Islam spread to originally. I am as Northern European as one can get with Celtic druids in my ancestry.

So, WHY am I a muslim today? Because it simply means “submitter to God, or servant”. A long time ago when I learned who Jesus was and his immense character and sense of morality, I made it my point to become like him. As best as I can. Jesus was on another level as an advanced soul who awakened to his duty. I am just…well, me.

However, I am on the Light side of reality and truth. I made my choice to be in service to others, not just myself. I fight for freedom and justice through my words. I would never don a sword, since I am a little petite thing. But my soul is a warrior soul, nobody can take my sense of freedom or spirit away from deep inside, and I stick up for others who need help. I chose a long time ago to be on the right side of truth, beauty, freedom, peace, and love. I work hard to promote unity and peace, and good will towards others. I am not Jesus nor anyone like him, but I am a good soul that made a choice a long time ago to be in service to others.

Spiritually, mentally, emotionally, I have existed only to help myself and others evolve to a place of more peaceful ways. Now-that being my history of what I have done with my life. Now you can get a clearer understanding of who I am as a person, and why I may see Islam this way. It is because I choose the path of Light, not Darkness. And everything I see has a potential for goodness since it comes from the Source of God, which is good to me.

Some have called me a “goody two shoes” when I was younger. I was innocent and naive about the world around me. My dad lovingly told me I float above earth with my head in the clouds and not on the ground. How right he is. Because to me, above earth is closer to God and I have always wanted that. I will do anything in my power to help others and end their sufferings.

Back to the meaning of being a muslim:

Quran 3:52 But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, “Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah ?” The disciples said,” We are supporters for Allah . We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him].

Here we can see that Jesus who also was a submitter to God (otherwise known as Allah throughout the Quran, which means singular version of Creator), is asking those around him who believes in all he says about God. The disciples or men who followed to learn his ways said they are “muslims” because they too submit  to giving up their base human desires, like Jesus did.

In arabic the meaning of “muslim” is a group of words. It is not a religion. It is not a separate select set of people.  It is the umbrella term for anyone who is GOOD and wishes to do GOOD towards others and who will experience Heaven.

Here Moses said….

Quran 10: 90 And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, “I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims.”

So do you see? Jews too can be “muslim” because they are submitters to God. To me it is ONE beautiful term to call myself, that isn’t a group of words such as “servant to God”. This word servant has a bad meaning attached to it, and so does the word “God”. Therefore to me, a muslim is a general term of a specific person who chooses a certain path towards being good towards others, as well as the self.

So yes, I am a muslim. Islam is not a religion originally, it was supposed to be  a way of life and how you carried yourself with integrity and modesty, for ALL mankind. Too bad all things have a potential to become manipulated in the wrong hands and today “muslim” holds other strange and alien meanings.

The other reason, why I chose Islam as my path towards truth is because I followed the “white rabbit” down the hole into the dark history of our country and desires for money and resources-or at the very least to remain on top.

After 9/11, I was a blank slate in my understanding of the wars in the Middle East, but as soon as I heard George Bush say ,” they hate us for our freedom”, this is where a red flag went up in my mind. As I have always been interested in world religions, I bought a Quran, and you know what I found out?

God’s guidance in the Quran to Muhammad is for humans to be free and un-oppressed in spirit and physicality! So how in the world could Muslim truly hate others for their freedom when freedom is the basis of our human rights given to us?!

Muhammad is instructed in fact to build an army to ward off and defend against those warring people that wish to take away the freedom of others and control them.

I have always been a truth seeker, and have an acute intuition when lies are being told by those in charge. After I discovered that so many lies about the Quran are pushed in the media, it made me see the Quran as the truth desperately trying to scream out to humans.

And I heard it’s call.

Now. Let’s be clear. The Quran is written in 600 AD and much is about the laws, customs, and events of that time.  But the universal truths found inside the Quran as in:

2:11o And be steadfast in prayer and regular in charity: And whatever good ye send forth for your souls before you, ye shall find it with Allah: for Allah sees Well all that ye do.

2:115 To Allah belong the east and the West: Whithersoever ye turn, there is the presence of Allah. For Allah is all-Pervading, all-Knowing.

2:148 To each is a goal to which Allah turns him; then strive together (as in a race) Towards all that is good. Wheresoever ye are, Allah will bring you Together. For Allah Hath power over all things.

2:164 Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which Allah Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they Trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise.

2:177 It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah-fearing.

2:179 In the Law of Equality there is (saving of) Life to you, o ye men of understanding; that ye may restrain yourselves.

2:190 Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.

2:212 The life of this world is alluring to those who reject faith, and they scoff at those who believe. But the righteous will be above them on the Day of Resurrection; for Allah bestows His abundance without measure on whom He will.

3:103 And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah’s favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided.

3:134 Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men;- for Allah loves those who do good.

5:13But because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard; they change the words from their (right) places and forget a good part of the message that was sent them, nor wilt thou cease to find them- barring a few – ever bent on (new) deceits: but forgive them, and overlook (their misdeeds): for Allah loveth those who are kind.

5:42..If thou judge, judge in equity between them. For Allah loveth those who judge in equity.

7:189 It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light burden and carries it about (unnoticed). When she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah their Lord, (saying): “If Thou givest us a goodly child, we vow we shall (ever) be grateful.”

11:90 Shuiab said “But ask forgiveness of your Lord, and turn unto Him (in repentance): For my Lord is indeed full of mercy and loving-kindness.”

19:96 On those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, will (Allah) Most Gracious bestow love.

50:7-8 And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)-To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah).

89:24-30 He will say: “Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!” For, that Day, His Chastisement will be such as none (else) can inflict, And His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind. (To the righteous soul will be said:) “O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction! “Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him! “Enter thou, then, among My devotees! “Yea, enter thou My Heaven!

2:62 Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] – those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness – will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

6:61 And He is the subjugator over His servants, and He sends over you guardian-angels until, when death comes to one of you, Our messengers take him, and they do not fail [in their duties].

16:32 The ones whom the angels take in death, [being] good and pure; [the angels] will say, “Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise for what you used to do.”

16:49 And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels[as well], and they are not arrogant.

25:25 And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.

75:22-23 Some faces, that Day, will beam in brightness and beauty…Looking at their Lord.

33:43 It is He who confers blessing upon you, and His angels, that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And ever is He, to the believers, Merciful.

2:25 And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before.” And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified companions, and they will abide therein eternally.

18:31 As for such, theirs will be Gardens of Eden, wherein rivers flow beneath them; therein they will be given armlets of gold and will wear green robes of finest silk and gold embroidery, reclining upon throne therein. Blest the reward, and fair the resting-place!

109:6 Say, “For you is your religion, and for me is my religion.”

5:119 Allah will say, “This is the Day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness.” For them are gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them, and they with Him. That is the great attainment.

21:104 The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.

***********************************************************************

All of those universal truths of being good and receiving a good reality here and the hereafter, in combination with the lies of the media is what made me search further for the truth.

Because of Quran verse 2:62:

Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] – those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness – will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

I do see us all having different names or definitions to call ourselves regarding the language and upbringing. You can be a Christian, you can be a Jew. You can be a Hindu. You can be a Buddhist. You can even be an agnostic. Although, I am aware of good and kind atheists, the very nature of denying God’s earlier messages and calling them fairytales-don’t truly help others, except throwing us further into separation and confusion.

What you can not be in order to be a muslim, is a rebel to God and a spreader of destruction and chaos on earth. Those people are in service to altogether another force alienated from God-Satan.

Whether I am a servant to God, a student of Buddha’s, a disciple of Jesus, or a helper of Krishna on earth, my ego is all doing one thing:

Being in submission to Good and this, my friends, is why I took in the beautiful arabic word, “muslim”. In serving others, you ultimately serve God.

Heaven as a Bore: The Human Drama Cycle

An interesting observation I just made today, was in one the facegroups called Violet Awakening, there isn’t much arguing or fighting going on. In fact, there isn’t much in depth dialogue going on between people. Everyone is simply sharing their thoughts on love, abundance, soul bliss, and joy. I can’t believe it, but this group actually is a pocket on the internet where people don’t bother each other. They all have different faiths, share different points of view, but connect on the level of violet consciousness which is the Crown Chakra, point of spiritual realization.

Being a spirit in an energetic body, this is a great state of being. Imagine, floating in your consciousness of pure bliss, never any wars, or evils. I can picture it right now…it seems absolutely beautiful. However, it does draw the question that perhaps brings our existence into focus: Is heaven boring?

To my human level, YES, it is. I am feeling it in this group. Not that the group members are boring, but it is “uneventful”. There isn’t any drama, or problems. I am so glad this group exists because in a web full of arguments, threats, and problems, I am glad this group doesn’t have any in order to be a safe haven for others. Trust me, I am really happy that the state of being the group is. I do wish there was more wild discussions going on though.

BUT it raises the question that one time, I heard from others, asking if Heaven really is boring. While, I don’t think Hell is an adventure rather than a pining or burning place of remorse and regret. I would say Heaven is not boring at the spirit level, but at the personality level..heck yeah! We humans crave action, and reaction. Eventful adventures that drive us towards the quest of fulfillment of the soul. Once you are fulfilled in the soul, you are done experiencing the adventure because there is nothing more to seek.

So can this earth become a Heaven? No, because subconsciously many aren’t ready for that in the physical. I know I am in the spiritual level when dead and gone, but not right now as me. I am sure many others can agree and perhaps this is why many choose NOT to believe in Heaven, Angels and God. Maybe deep down, they don’t want to stop the human cycle of adventure.

When humans stop wanting adventure and exploration maybe that’s when they are ready for Heaven’s bliss. I try to picture any action happening in Heaven, and can not. I truly don’t see wars, or issues arising in this state of being. All I see or feel is a state of pure awareness and bliss. No souls are fighting or arguing in Jannah/Heaven, because of a pure state of consciousness that they are in.

Wow..I can’t believe I admitted this. But while I am alive still, I LIKE the experience of drama. I love seeing good and evil play out and learning from it’s lessons. I love siding with the Good and Light side and most certainly don’t like seeing the suffering, but I know this is a byproduct of evil existing. If evil didn’t exist, this world would be completely different. It would be a total state of “non action” or perhaps the actions would take place in other ways?

Could adventure be had without having to battle evil always? I am not so sure, but it gives me something to ponder. Would we be really ready for Heaven in the physical? What do you think?

What are the alternatives to adventure without war or fighting against something?

The Secret to Bliss: An Empathic Perspective

I am not “fighting” the evil anymore. I am not wracking my brains  trying to get rid of the world’s sufferings, pain and evil deeds. I realized that they are going to happen regardless of my efforts. But a deeper realization hit me last night, while watching the “King’s Speech”movie.

It was not really a large detail of the movie, but it was enough to give me that sudden realization and elevation into my newer awareness. When the King was meeting with the private council of elite men to give a speech, I noticed on the bottom left hand side that the council was called the “Ascension Council”, and it hit me at that moment.

To those who are rich and powerful, their idea of soul ascension is to become King, or President, CEO of huge corporations, and even in charge of large militia, etc..

While it is not MY idea of soul ascension, it is very much the perspective of those in power. To become a king or govern over people is the pinnacle of human experience to them, and aides in their ascension. This fact made me realize that we are ALL just trying to achieve ascension. The Light and the Dark side are together racing towards this in their own different ways, but it is a race where everyone is a winner and nobody is left without a reward.

Where are they ascending to? It is hard to explain in human terms, so I will do it through my emotions as best. Ascension is the idea of reaching the peak of human achievement, both spiritually and physically, leading to emotional and subconscious bliss. This is the place of karmic cleansing where they can simply bask in their material rewards of this earth and perhaps in the next.

The reward of the Darker path to ascend is not as good as the Light Side, I will tell you that. Because ascension through the Dark path is by using others. Ascension of the Light path is using only the self and improving the strength of the soul.

Am I mad at these people for being rich and powerful, and thinking it is their ascension? No. I actually understand it, even though I don’t share their view. In a way, I forgive them. They may think creating wars, and using the masses to bring them to a higher state of social status, and wealth is their ticket to “heaven”.  It is only sad to me, not angering me anymore. Because I have not as much as them materially, but understand that the true ascension isn’t through social status, or wealth, or power.

So, now using this change of perspective on the rich and powerful in the world, I can also see the perspective of serial killers, gang members, drug peddlers, sex traffic ring leaders, etc. I think they are cowards for choosing the choices they made in this world, but I understand where it comes from: A need to survive, gain material wealth, feel important, release anger and repressed feelings, deal with pain, and many other reasons. I do not condone evil actions. I just know where they come from is a feeling of LACK somewhere in their life. They aren’t even aware of it and even maybe only subconsciously, otherwise they would go get help and stop hurting themselves and others. This is why I am a huge advocate of criminal rehabilitation  to give people time to make different choices to change and redeem themselves. I have always been a huge fan of redemption.

2:37 Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

Furthermore, what I realized is, if I can see any person’s actions and if I look deeply enough and know where they come from, I won’t fear them or hate them. I simply UNDERSTAND and can forgive even, if they are seeking forgiveness. This is where empathy can become a saving grace for mankind, if we all started to develop this in order to understand where each other came from. If we really took the time to understand WHERE the evil stems from in the world, we may be able to see another’s point of view, that leads to more peaceful living.

I don’t know…I am an idealist, and this is a dream. I am starting to see it could happen with a shift in consciousness taking place in the the human psyche, but I am not so sure if everyone WANTS to be an active participant in this journey in human ascension. Or if we all do, we all have different ideas of what ascension really is.

I am not even mad at the secret illuminati group any longer that is peddling their books and society by tempting people with wealth, and power. I get it. They believe they have reached the highest echelon of mankind by acquiring their position of power in the world.

I just take a moment in understanding and reflection, and remember what the Quran tells me:

99:7-8 So whoever does an atom‘s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom‘s weight of evil will see it.

I will not stop writing, talking about, thinking about what is going on in the world and the unfairness or atrocities against human life, but I am not going to fight it any longer through my  personal anger and resentment. I am moving passed this emotion and into a different perspective of things perhaps into my own personal ascension. Only God knows.

Another form of ascension may be being knighted through the ritual of acquiring  “Knighthood” by the king or queen.

Ant Man and the Science of the Quran Surah:An-Naml

A movie, I was reluctant to see was the Antman. It looked painfully silly and didn’t peek my interest until one day I started watching it recently. I was immediately fascinated by the scientist, played brilliantly by Michael Douglas, who could control ants through usage of frequencies and sound waves.

Turns out this isn’t a creative idea from Stan Lee, it actually is the truth of how ants operate. More info here: http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2013/02/shhh-ants-are-talking

Going back to the Quran, we learn about a wonderful man in the beginning stages of humanity named Solomon. He was granted kingship and guarding over all creatures and humans at the time after Adam. One of the stories in the Quran to display his power bestowed upon him, was the power to communicate to animals.

27:16 And Solomon inherited David. He said, “O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty.

This is not just a fairytale, it is science. Ants have been discovered to communicate through sound to one another by rubbing the spikes on their bellies to form sound waves and vibrations to “talk” to one another and give out directions.

27:18 Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, “O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not.”

27:19 So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, “My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants.”

So could it be, that like Stan Lee’s scientist who developed the Antman suit, Solomon also was given the power of knowledge of how to manipulate sound waves and understand them? Perhaps he was able to actually understand the different vibrations the ants made and they could be processed as words in his mind because he was bestowed with this gift?

This really starts to bring forth many questions, but it truly opens up the deeper science behind the Universe. Much of what Tesla talks about is how the universe is run on frequencies and sound waves. Perhaps when you understand them, and actually can harness them, you control the environment and reality around you. We will never be Allah, but we can be bestowed with the knowledge and wisdom of being able to understand this reality and perhaps more if Allah so chooses you as a great servant in this world.

I recommend the movie, it is funny and fascinating, especially to a muslim who knows of this story of  King Solomon.

Master Souls: Be Good and Have Fun

I and many other spiritually attuned people consider being a master soul as something as in deep alignment to God. My goal for this life is to please Allah so much so, that I become a master soul in this life and in the next.

I am not just trying to be good, I want to be in control of my life. I suffered a lot at the hands of others who were operating life at a lower place in consciousness. Meaning they didn’t know they were hurting me, or were so hurt themselves…they didn’t care to hurt others. My stepmother…my father…my exes…the list goes on.

But what I realized in the past few days of dealing with deep emotional pain, is that life doesn’t have to be this way. I can take my life back from those who try to control me. To become a master soul is to realize where all pain, and joy come from and be able to experience BOTH as the same.

So here is my new motto for life: Be kind, have courage, AND have fun. I mean it. I will not suffer under the hands of others any longer. I can simply understand where it comes from and the place of pain the person who is hurting me is in. It takes more courage to find the joy in life than pain, I realize and I am willing to become that person who triumphs.

A very personal example, is my sister in law said that because her wedding was not separated from men and women, and was a coed wedding cause she was born in America and very much had both male and female friends she wanted to share the day with, some of her close relatives did not show up. It hurt her very badly to learn that her family would rather stick to strict traditions NOT found in the Quran, but instead passed down culturally. And chose not to see her get married to the love of her life who was a wonderful man. They really missed out, and for what?

What good is it to ever hold yourself back from experiencing life at its fullest? Don’t you think our Creator gave us the spark of life, in order to LIVE. Well then gosh darn it …LIVE. I tell myself, and I remind those who forgot this.

The coed wedding example is one of those situations that make me realize the error of weighing oneself down and forgoing fun. It turns out that we really may just have this life to live and although God wants us to not deviate from the righteous path. I believe God does want us to appreciate FULLY the gift of life, He has bestowed upon each one of us. We are not supposed to sit life out and fail to experience the joy of living.

The ascetics way of enlightenment is through pain and suffering, and Buddha as a teacher learned from his experience  and then taught everyone else the truth behind suffering and pain. We don’t need to go through it if we are in control of our life. There will always be hard times, and challenges, but we can make a choice to move past the pain. We can choose to see life as a joyous dance of experience, and in doing so our love for God grows deeper…..

Islam and The Little Prince Connection

Netflix finally released the brand new Little Prince movie! And I finally watched it tonight. I was so emotional as this particular version of the Little Prince was to go beyond the book and discuss the deeper spiritual understandings embedded inside. One of the greatest reasons, I found islam to be my personal path is the constant reminder in the Quran about SEEING with the heart instead of being blind in the mind. Or in lesser poetic terms-closed off emotionally and spiritually.

Of course the Quran was never speaking about physical blindness, but it is the blindness within that keeps people from obtaining “Jannah” in this world, and in the next.

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

Quran 2:18

Deaf, dumb and blind – so they will not return.

Quran 13:9

Then is he who knows that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth like one who is blind? They will only be reminded who are people of understanding –

Just as the Little Prince teaches the Pilot about how to see the world with his heart, and not just with his closed mind, Allah also teaches His creations.

Another connection to Islam that The Little Prince carries is the idea of the transcendent soul. It is very clear that the Little Prince is talking about death as the way to release himself from the attachments to earth in order to get back to his original state.

This is connecting the Garden of Eden to our original state of being. The innocence we have had before our knowledge of good and bad. We are in essence making our own journeys back to this garden, where waters flow and sweet nectar is given. Where we are surrounded by other pure souls who become our soul companions for as long as we desire their company and friendship. The small planet that the Little Prince came from and was going back to is about his remembrance of his simple pleasure in life, and the innocence of being present in the moment. He was in bliss, until the vain flower caused him to run in search of himself. In one way this rose represents the ego, that we all eventually detach ourselves from once we transcend into a state of higher understandings.

The Quran teaches mankind, that once a person sheds their ego, they no longer are attached to this world, and can enter the gates of Heaven….the Gardens we originate from. This is why giving the shirt off your back in charity, and helping one another materially and emotionally is so important in the Quran. When you help others find happiness, you detach from your own attachments and in turn find your own happiness within.

Quran 9:72

Allah has promised to the believers -men and women, – Gardens under which rivers flow to dwell therein forever, and beautiful mansions in Gardens of ‘Adn (EdenParadise). But the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allah. That is the supreme success.

Quran 19:61

Gardens of Eden, which the Beneficent hath promised to His slaves in the unseen. Lo! His promise is ever sure of fulfilment –

Another lesson in the Little Prince that correlates to what Gabriel was showing Muhammad to teach others, was the idea of death as a transition. It is never the end. The Little Prince teaches the pilot this, as he chooses to drop the weight of his “shell” which is the bodily form, in order to go back to the asteroid he once came from. Like humans, we drop our shells, when Allah decides it is time for our journey to end, and we transition into the next state. We are very much alive, as much as the Little Prince is laughing amongst the stars.

Quran 2:154

And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah , “They are dead.” Rather, they are alive, but you perceive [it] not.

Quran 19: 15

And peace be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive.

Quran 19: 66

And the disbeliever says, “When I have died, am I going to be brought forth alive?”

Quran 79: 14

When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death

The Quran is a road map back home. It is not the only one. Allah provides wisdom to those who seek it and believe in the beyond. But the Quran is a clear Sign book created to reach those of Understanding and who are not yet blind within the heart. I am one of those Muslims, and am happy to say I did not allow the worldly perspective blind my heart from the spiritual knowledge given to me through the Quran, and possibly through other forms of help.

The Little Prince is one of the best selling books in the whole world, it has been written in almost every language. NASA named an asteroid after the asteroid the Little Prince lived on in the book, called B612. There is some deep spiritual truths hidden within this children’s tale because as Allah shows time and time again, humans learn best through hearing stories, and passing them down.

The movie was really beautiful. If you liked the book, I highly recommend. It is a bit different, but the destination is the same. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and let it open your heart even more.
