A Closer Look At This Ad: Spiritual Discernment Is Needed

I really need to talk about this ad that was informed about on a  facebook group because I think it’s important to discern between false spiritual light and divinely inspired guidance. Though it’s only my interpretation, my duties towards a higher power consist of me learning and studying different religious books and paths in order to help facilitate unity and understanding about one another. So I will provide as much evidence that I can to show another perspective about many of these things on the list that others are participating in today.

First off, I am shocked to see this level of low understanding in this day and age. The creator of this list  is parroting what the old priesthood in church say to them.  Much of this stuff is an exaggeration of what is told in the Bible and is mostly assumed. I would suggest never to listen to anyone except your own soul, and the divinely given books, cause it’s your direct line to understanding God’s will on earth. I don’t follow anything outside my own intuition and heart. This is why I have not found a suitable church, temple or mosque that fulfills my requirements to teach the individual journey of the soul to facilitate their own learnings. I am not saying they are not out there, I am saying that a person at the front teaching others need to be as much as an aware person about other religions and spiritual matters as I have dedicated myself to be. That is hard to find for me.

I am a highly spiritual person, but I am also highly logical which allows me to objectively look at the context of religion and divinely inspired texts. I am much like the character in the Harry Potter series named Hermione on my quest to search for spiritual authenticity.

“Actually I’m highly logical which allows me to look past extraneous detail and perceive clearly that which others overlook.”

Hermione in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I don’t know everything about our Creator consciousness, but I have over 20 years of experience reading the I-Ching, Bhagavad Gita, Rig Vedas, Book of Dead, Talmud, Torah, Bible, Quran, along with Buddha’s teachings, Rumi, Gibran, Zig Ziglar, and countless years of investigation into secret societies like freemasons and the illuminati. I don’t belong to a mystery school, but I have been invited in and have declined. But that is because I choose to work good from the outside of any organization as a separate entity and never belong to an organization that pledges itself to the members or the cause. That is because I only submit to God as a muslim, and not to manmade institutions.

I hope the interpretation I give does some good towards the intellect and awareness of others. God knows we need more in the world, and I focus my efforts on alleviating people from ignorance since I am a willing teacher who likes to study and read while others go out and party. It helps that God created me as an introvert from birth.

First step is to understand more about  demons & other “fallen” beings.

Intuitively and academically known, demons and other nasty selfish entities will come to a person that dabbles in dark things meaning the black arts used to harm others or seek power. These beings seek to confuse, and lead a person astray who wanders off the path of God. Much of their victims are people that often times have a curiosity that goes further than academia and they actually want to try out the powers given to them or said to be given.

Our thoughts are energies and if you actually read the religious texts (helpful to read more than one book) you will learn that demons, fallen angels and jinns are much like other beings with free will themselves like what we consider are “aliens or spirits” from other dimensions. They are made out of unknown elements that allow them to be inter-dimensional beings and exist in their world as well as ours, but they don’t  possess just anyone, they actually work on feeding from lower frequencies and vibrations, and so if a person is emitting those lower frequencies and vibrations voluntarily like opening doorways to use demonic powers to harm others, well then yes..that’s playing with fire and you may experience some negative energy in your life. Also jinns in the Quran are shown to enter through the subconsciousness of a person causing them struggle and ultimately leading to  disbelief of God.

2:268 Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

What this line suggests is that Satan is an energy that will influence the economic pyramid of this world in order to cause hardship and poverty (whisperings into the hearts of greedy leaders and such), and this often times will lead a person astray to not have faith in the afterlife or a higher power when they have to endure such a hard (seemingly) unfair life. It is a beautiful thing to see a spiritual homeless person or a religious person struck with poverty and not lose their faith. It means they have passed the trial of their soul to not be tempted to believe Satan that there is no goodness in creation. The “Ordering you to Immortality” is something that is taught in many ways today, and it is important to understand the very definition of immortality is to never die a physical or spiritual death. We are here to understand that the physical death is just a transition into a higher state of being (hopefully) closer to God. When you want to live a physical life forever, you are worshipping this material life, wanting to experience the wealth, power, and knowledge beyond your intended purpose to learn your lessons on earth. Satan will tempt in this way to get people to love the physical world, more so than the spiritual  one.

The ego and the material world go together well, since the ego is the identity of the self as the central focus, and this earth and life is the central focus on a material atheist or mind frame. The super consciousness is represented by God and connects to the spiritual world that is not seen, but is felt deeply by humans.

Knowing this information of the temptation into the physical world ONLY, we can then make a more clear analysis of this list of “sins” created from an obvious strict Christian view point.

Now, time to dissect this ad in the paper.

Eastern Religions– What a broad statement about eastern philosophy and the teachings of Buddha, yogis, bodhisattvas, and the other messengers of all the other teachers that have touched our hearts with their ethereal wisdom! This is clearly an opinion that is not backed up by evidence that any of their teachings open doorways to demons. In fact, Hinduism, Islam, and Buddhism teach ways to keep those doors closed from harmful energy in a person’s mind and heart, allowing the chance for someone to live a good and peaceful life loving others, and doing their duties towards the Divine Light found within themselves  and in nature.

At one point, it is shown in historical evidence that there were tribes and civilizations that worshipped other deities and gods, but we can now intelligently discern what is worship of direct adversaries of a creative force that many call God, and what are helpers to it. Anything that taught humans to kill one another, greed towards gold and other forms of commerce, human sacrifices for fame and status of an individual without earning it are all clearly worship of evil ideologies that bring more harm in the world.  But these ideologies will not be found in the spiritual messages of the Bhagavad Gita, I-Ching, Quran, Buddha teachings, or any other valuable eastern philosophy messages. In fact, Hinduism teaches that it is not wise to worship other energies or deities besides the Supreme Personality, or your soul can end up lost on another planet of that deity worshipped instead of the Godhead. It all has to do with states of mind you bring yourself to. You can bring yourself to connect to the parts of God, or the whole.

I will say, the only teachings I have come across that sent chills up my spine is in the Ancient Egyptian’s Book of Dead. It is not really a book, but it is ancient scrolls found to tell about the Egyptian’s ideology. It is not good for all people and actually divided people by rich and the poor status.  The rich went to heaven because they could afford the spells in order to get there. The Book of Dead were scrolls that only the rich could pay for that offered ways to beat demons in the afterlife leading them into a “field of golden wheat” which was their view of Heaven. The poor often times could never earn these spells, and would die with an understanding their souls or “ka” would be eaten up by demons before they even reached the gates of the afterlife. Can you imagine that mental anguish or pain to believe such a thing about yourself and loved ones who could not afford these magic spells?

If there is evil in any religion, it was in the Ancient Egyptian ideology created by the wealthy class to divide people further. This is ultimately WHY Moses had to free the Jews who were gathering to believe something other than this evil ideology.

It’s also evil and very dividing to think that only Christianity holds the truth in a world full of billions of people born into and finding different pathways to God. I can bet with my life that eastern philosophies do not automatically lead you to Satan. This is why I do connect to Islam more because it was a way to connect all monotheistic beliefs, yet keep them diverse in understanding our differences.

Yoga– Yoga is a series of poses and stretches that open the chakra centers up and restore muscle memory in the body. It was first created by the Yogi mystics who believed they could awaken themselves to a higher consciousness and awareness supported by the Divine. They too were in search of a higher power and felt through these poses and stretches they became more aligned to understanding their connection. Today Yoga is used as a physical exercise and much of yoga is not at all spiritual, but is more healthy for the body. There are good and bad ways yoga could be used I am sure. Yoga can open up the chakra centers to allow new levels of consciousness and experience into one’s life, but it is what you do what that information that ultimately matters. Will you use the information of higher awareness to harm others, or help them? That ultimately is the real discernment between understanding the rights and wrongs of yoga. Personally, I use it to help improve my body’s flexibility and tone, and do not use it in any other ways except to relax and revitalize my body so that I may continue to do the work I have set out to do to help others.

Can a demon come and possess a person doing these stretches? I have not had any problems of negative energies in my reality or have heard of cases of people who do yoga as targets. In fact, many people who do yoga are actually more peaceful and aware minded, living wonderful lives harmonious with the teachings from God.

Freemasonry– This is a subject that will take a book to explain, but the short and sweet of it is this person who wrote this ad above has no idea that the Freemasons base their missions and ideas on the Bible’s teachings. They do believe that like Jesus became God, so can man. They actually use a Freemason’s Bible to reference all their missions, and I own one to look at. You can buy it off of ebay, and it will have the Gnostic symbols on the cover even though it is the King James version of the Gospel commissioned in the 1600s.

Like in all organizations built by people, there are different branches and personalities within. Much of Freemasonary is a group of men and (Order of the Eastern Star support women connected to freemasons) and they pride themselves on acting out the words of God, finding enlightenment in missions, community projects, and helping the poor and needy. Ever hear of the Shriner’s hospital? Yes, they are a sect within Freemasonry too.

There are so many sects and branches within Freemasonry, but it all stems from the Bible teachings of Solomon’s temple and the sacred geometry taught to the men who built that temple. Some people use their spiritual knowledge for good, and others for evil. But ultimately they are just men and women who are also on their own journey to discover the divine.

Can this open doorways into the unknown? Depends on the individual.

Illuminati groups– This is a sect of Freemasons that are higher up in the order. They seem to have a concrete idea of what the world needs to be like and what it should look like according to God. I could never belong to such a group nor applaud them for their efforts, since I am more of a mystic rather than a zealot as many of them seem to be. Many of them are very narrow minded and only see the Christians Gnostic version of reality. But there are also many GOOD people working within the illuminati structure who wish to see humanity wake up from it’s wars and destruction of each other. Some do cause the wars though. It’s a very large organization with many levels. Of course, these people have a focused mission in mind, but they are individuals who have different opinions and filters of their own spiritual understandings.

The celebs seem to work for them, and the symbols are everywhere today in entertainment, but does this mean ultimately we are inviting negative energy that is opposite of God’s energy to come into our life? I would say once again, it is up to the individual who is an illuminati member and how far they open that door towards belief in no God, and the quest for the material pleasures of this world.

New age religions-This is such a broad statement as well. It can not be generalized and must be looked at from an individual case to case basis. I would say stay away from anything that does not teach unity, love, respect, and gratitude towards a Higher Power, and you will find many New Age teachings to be very ancient wisdom and not new at all.

Church of Satan–  when you read about Anton LaVey and his intentions in starting this church in the 60s, you see this is opening up a doorway towards manipulation of the soul. He taught people to see God as a tyrant and a competitive creator with Satan, which is a spit in the face of the Divine messages and guidance from Angels and the messengers chosen to free people, help people, and unite them. It also isn’t really understanding how loving God really is to sustain the good and destroy the evil. I would highly recommend people to not open this doorway to their consciousness if they do want to find their way back to God in the end of this lifetime. Just a healthy  suggestion. I have learned that even LaVey himself called out a repentance on his deathbed as some witnesses described, when he was dying. I am not sure how accurate this information is, it is only what I have researched about.

Scientology– This is a cult based off of the psychology of cleansing yourself from past experiences and lives. It is centered around one man’s scifi version, Ron.L. Hubbard, of the existence of man being here because of an evil alien overlord named Xenu bringing us down to earth. It became a religion in order to reach tax exempt status, but is more Freudian psychotherapy than a worship of a Creator. Watch the documentary “Going Clear” to learn more. You be the decider of this one. I would not say it necessarily opens doorways, more like keeps them closed because there is not worship or gratitude towards God .It is such a specific route of spiritual awakening and there is not a focus on a particular God source. Some scientologists are well meaning people and the mission is to become “clear” of thetans known as spiritual bodies that cause internal issues, have a hearty mission to help save the world or make it a better one. As far as I know, the book Dianetics is their holy book, and I have read some of it when I purchased it from Scientologists selling it off the street many years ago, but I am still learning because I have not been able to digest the book fully because it is full of conflicting ideas for me. I highly recommend to do your own research to learn more about this particular path if interested in learning about it.

Rosicrucianism-see  and research more about Freemasonry. This is a branch that combines, Judaism, Christianity and Egyptian mythology.

Astrology– God created the stars. Should we worship them? No, of course not. According to the Quran and other texts this is being mislead to worship beings from other planets and galaxies. But we should understand that there is a purpose and a divine order of things. So the stars and planets that align with your birth do have some purpose behind it. I believe it to be a blueprint, and a little bit of a road map to help guide us, but it isn’t a laid out plan of our destiny. Much of our astrology is something that could be tossed up to our individual creation within the wombs, and the planets could have influence on our personalities in more ways than we can understand at this point in time. I do not believe in day to day astrological predictions because this would mean that everything is already planned out or destined to happen and written in the stars. As a free thinker, I believe that our destinies are what we make them to be because I do believe in Free will and see it within the divine religious texts.

Can demons come into the life of an astrologer? Only if they wanted to get you to worship the stars or beings from beyond as possibly it happened in cultures who did at one point think the stars were where the gods came from. When you believe that only One good source of energy created all the stars, and heavens, how else could you ever be lead astray knowing your sign you were born under?

Tarot cards– A pack of cards with esoteric symbology used as a divination tool since the earliest time of Egypt and Babylon. It is said that this deck of cards describing the major and minor “arcana” is the secret wisdom passed down throughout the centuries illustrated in symbols. Personally, I stay away from divination tools which could open up portals or dimensions into possibly understanding the future. This is because I try to live in the moment and never want to know fully my future.  I know from personal experience that looking into your future where death and loss is inevitable is really an asking for more suffering and anxiety than it is worth. This is why Buddha taught humans to live in the present moment, and not worry about looking into the future, which is really open to discovery as you make your choices.

I don’t judge others who use it, but I would proceed with caution as anything to do with the occult and divination tools can knock on doors that can not be seen. This is not the case for everyone and sometimes Angel cards, and other modern day affirmation cards, just give daily affirmations to help you when feeling lost. Humans are on a constant search to understand themselves and the answers to their most important question: Why are we here?

It is important to know and do research to understand where did the major and minor arcana symbols come from to create the Tarot cards with the archetypes today, before choosing to dabble in usage of them.

Ouija boards– This is a device used to communicate with the dead. I would definitely proceed with caution. Funny thing about communicating with the spirit world, is that you can not see who it is on the other side answering back to your questions. Isn’t this how almost all supernatural horror movies start out? Somebody always opens some door or evokes the spirit to enter into their lives to start the hauntings. Use the board with full understanding that there are always consequences to knocking on the door of the other dimensions and expecting an answer back.

Remote Viewing– This is something that Muhammad did in his night journey in Surah 17

17:1 Glory be to Him Who made His servant to go on a night from the Sacred Mosque to the remote mosque of which We have blessed the precincts, so that We may show to him some of Our signs; surely He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

It is important to understand that remote viewing is when your mind leaves the body and views places outside of the present space the body it is in. Contrary to many people’s belief, Muhammad did not take a flying horse or mule to see another mosque far from his present location. According to the original source of the revelations, the Quran, there was no flying object or animal he went on. The Quran simply says that God “took him” in the night to understand his duties set upon him to help his people in Mecca, who were under the control of the cruel elite class that were persecuting anyone who questioned their pagan worship.

It is said that the government uses people with remote viewing abilities today and in the past to see on the moon and other far away places. Does it open up doorways to demon possession? That would depend on the individual doing the remote viewing and how “open” is their mind. As we learn in the Quran, and in the Bible, certain messengers and prophets were given the vision to see distant lands and other timelines in order to do what they needed to do to help spread the message of God.

Palmistry– Reading the palms. This is an ancient divination tool once again, we are not sure the origins of its teachings. I would proceed with caution and not claim to know the future by reading the lines of somebody’s hands. I know many take it is as  joke or a fun hobby, and some even make a living off of doing it. It has a strange past and I would recommend looking into it further before deciding.

Though there is an interesting verse that suggest that God and the Angels will be able to read our body parts to tell what kinds of deeds we have done in our lives. There very well could be a record of experiences written within us through the lines that become ingrained our our bodies.

Does it open doors to demonic possession? I have experience in researching and understanding a little bit about palmistry, even doing it for my own hand, and I would say I have not come into contact with evil energy in my life.

Voodoo– Voodoo teaches belief in a supreme being called Bondye, an unknowable and uninvolved creator god,” reports Live Science . “Voodoo believers worship many spirits (called loa or Iwa), each one of whom is responsible for a specific domain or part of life. So, for example, if you are a farmer you might give praise and offerings to the spirit of agriculture; if you are suffering from unrequited love, you would praise or leave offerings for Erzulie Freda, the spirit of love, and so on. In addition to helping (or impeding) human affairs, loa can also manifest themselves by possessing the bodies of their worshipers. Followers of voodoo also believe in a universal energy and a soul that can leave the body during dreams and spirit possession.” It’s origins are unknown, but thought to start in Africa, and then be brought to the West Indes, where it is practiced much in Haiti today.

We have our warnings as muslims about worshipping other energies besides One force, that possibly could open up doors unseen that can let nasty entities in. It is hard to judge one person’s particular path, but I would proceed with caution here, especially if you work with voodoo dolls and ask for spirit possession to aid you in resolving conflicts. Harming someone regardless of religion, will bring you severely off the path of God as it is. Using a spirit to help you to do that may open up a big can of worms you will not be able to shut.

Earth worship– I touch trees and look at them with gratitude while walking to work. Do I worship a nature deity of the forests or oceans, that I love? No. I see God in all things, and in my smiling or “hugging” trees, I am showing love and gratitude towards the Divine Creator of all of this I see and appreciate around me.

Once again, if you are going to worship gods and goddesses that represent different elements in nature, I would proceed with caution. Energetically you may not understand what you are truly contacting.

Wicca– Wicca has so many branches these days. This is a large subject that is too broad of a label to define as good or sinful for the soul. Each branch of Wicca focuses on nature and working with the elements of air, water, fire, earth. Of course when worshipping many gods and goddesses you should remain aware of the fact that we humans do not have the perception to see what we are contacting. We can sense things, but sometimes our senses can lead us wrong if our desires mask our internal warnings about something.

At one point, I wanted to be a white witch, and I learned so much about herbalism and how to heal others through natural medicine. Many hadiths in the Quran are about this ancient form of knowledge to use the earth to heal people. Honey from the bees is a form of Wicca knowledge today, and it is a guidance found within the Quran that bees were created to serve and help humanity.

Witches dancing in the woods, pledging their naked bodies to Satan? I would proceed with caution as this could open them up to harmful exposure of energies unknown and possibly very dark.

Cyber punk-According to Wikki it is a subgenre of science fiction in a future setting that tends to focus on society as “high tech low life”[1] featuring advanced technological and scientific achievements, such as information technology and cybernetics, juxtaposed with a degree of breakdown or radical change in the social order. Much like the movies about dystopian futures and societies this is where you will find cyber punk.

Once again, this depends on the individual. I love watching these types of sci-fi movies and reading these stories in order to understand some possible futures that humanity could slip into if not careful and if the quest for immortality drives them.

Can it possess you by demons? Highly improbable, unless you are going out of your way to contact aliens by some unknown means of communication, and they want to use your body to inflict harm on humanity. That scenario sounds a little sci-fi to me though.

Divination– Looking into the future through tools such as tarot cards, looking into tea smudges inside of tea cups, talking to psychics, cutting open an animal and looking at their entrails, gazing into a crystal ball. This particular field is warned about in the Quran. Possibly at one time in history, divination was used in very evil ways, such as a ruler would ask for their “divination” representative of their court to tell them their future, and they would put to death many innocent people based on unfair predictions about this so called future. I don’t believe time works on a linear line and you can not determine one’s future looking at physical objects, this does not quite make logical sense to me. When you know the future and try to alter it you can cause more problems in the end. Look into the Butterfly Effect. How many Greek tragedies occur when the heroes meet the Oracles and try to stop their own fate from happening?  Almost all the Greek mythologies are based on this idea of humans playing with their fates after knowing their future.

It is best practice to focus on the present moment and leave the future to unveil itself through your individual choices. I understand there are many psychics who do make a living off of this particular subject, I myself am a bit psychic. I would say it all depends on the intention to use one’s gift of higher intuition that really counts.

Meditation– There are different forms of meditation. Much like prayer, meditation can be be done to quiet the mind and connect with the Divine. There has been some cases in which “empty thought” meditation has caused some unknown entity to mess around with people. I have some personal experience with a friend telling me this happened to them. But this is very rare and you may have to invite them in, in some way. I personally always look for God when I meditate, and use it as a way to deeply connect.

Vegetarianism– It is a personal choice of not eating meat, and should have no basis in spirituality of the person.

Lycanthropy-the belief that one can turn into a wolf, or another wild animal. I would say if you are on this path, it could lead you to a delusional form of reality. It would depend on the individual if this would cause harm to your soul and how far you go believing you to be a wild beast hybrid human creature.

Postmodernism– According to, http://www.theopedia.com/postmodernism, it is a relativistic system of observation and thought that denies absolutes and objectivity. While no consensus exists on a precise definition, postmodernism nevertheless signals a dissatisfaction with one or more aspects of modernity. Its origins are found in the philosophies of Nietzsche, Heidegger, Marx and Freud. On some points, particularly its attitude to truth, it is similar to New Age thinking.

Well if this area of thought believes in no other consciousness except for the Self as in solipsism, I would say this is a path away from building a gracious and loving connection to a Higher Power some people refer universally as their God.

Not sure why this would ever allow demons to possess a person, since the person who believes in these types of philosophies would not even believe in anything outside the physical mind in any case. Invitation seems to be denied because of the disbelief in the spiritual world. But who knows..

Demon possession? N/A

Backmasking-is a recording technique in which a sound or message is recorded backward onto a track that is meant to be played forward and is a deliberate process, whereas a message found through phonetic reversal may be unintentional.

My gosh…first of all, you have to ask yourself what are the intentions of the person doing the backmasking. There is a strange and creepy feeling when I have listened to the music from conspiracy “Beyonce” videos trying to show hidden messages of allegiance to Satan. Perhaps the mind doesn’t like things backwards. Does it open someone up to demonic possession as this ad suggests? I wouldn’t be so sure to say that it does, it all has to do with the state of mind you have while listening to backwards messages. If you are strong in intentions to just learn about secret messages hidden, but not necessarily add anything harmful to anyone’s psyche by creating them, well then God can only be the judge of your soul. But logically this doesn’t equate to instant demonic possession.

Astral projection– Very much like remote viewing, astral projection is when the spiritual body or soul leaves the physical body and travels around. Once again when the mind is focused and grounded, it is hard for a negative entity to enter into one’s life. You would truly have to be stumbling around without a direction in order for a “jinn” to want to take advantage of you. I would not do it if you don’t truly understand what you are getting into or have a clear idea of where to project yourself to. But in a way, daydreams and night dreams are very much like astral projections. Scientists still don’t quite understand the nature of our consciousness and where we go when we sleep at night. So astral projections can be a risk within a lower consciousness states, just like in dreams, when they give you nightmares.

Necromancy-proceed with caution. Even the masters of communicating with the dead, open up doors to unknown and possibly dangerous energies entering into their life. If you like living on the edge, so be it.

Re-birthing– According to WebMD it can be considered more physically dangerous as one little girl did die from it in Colorado. See this site for more information: http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/news/20000628/rebirthing-therapy

Can it open up doorways to demonic possession of the soul? No. There is no intention to invite a new energy into your body, it is a focus on the self towards rebirth and renewal in order to move past traumatic events. It is very much like the idea of Baptisms of the “born again” Christian without water and instead using breathing techniques and often times the environment to simulate the womb once again. It is seen as an unconventional way of therapy to teach a person how to start all over again. We can’t know if this even helps in long term effects. Please be careful doing it and don’t use pillows or blankets over your head.

Kabbalah– Still learning about this mystical branch of Judaism as we speak in order to understand my fellow man. It is said to be passed down information by Divine sources to help humanity. Many people may think it is information given by demons, I can not say this for sure. I am in the process of still researching it more. I will say, the Tree of Life seems extremely practical in describing the different stages of consciousness of creation, and there is a lot of beautiful wisdom within the Kabbalah’s teachings. But I honestly can not give you a fully educated opinion on this until I finish reading the teachings of it.

LOTR– Also known as Lord of the Rings “saga” which was written by J.R.R Toklien a good friend of C.S Lewis. They both are known to be Christians and wrote allegorical context within their writings. Part of why people find their stories about good and evil is because of the beautiful connection between the Divine scripture and the promises made in the end  of “good triumphing over evil”. LOTR is filled of mythical  (or not) creatures like dwarves, dragons, and elves. Yet there is no clear religion within these lands except for a quest for the Undying Lands, which when you read the books sounds very much like Heaven in the religious texts. Especially the Quran’s expression of Heaven.

And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before.” And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally.

I love the LOTR series, and in a human corrupted world, this story of triumph over evil is sometimes the only glimmer of God I can experience in entertainment form. When I see another author express a profound spiritual wisdom that warms my heart and connects to everything taught within these religious texts, this is what draws me closer to Allah the Divine.

How possibly could LOTR ever open up someone to demonic possession when it teaches humans to always fight against the darkness itself? This is definitely false fear to say the LOTRs is something sinful. I personally know many religious people who love the Lord of the Rings series.

Firewalking– Walking through fire with bare feet. Other than causing pain and damage to the body as it has been shown to happen to people in experienced, I don’t believe this is evoking anything into your life. This person who wrote this ad may feel that fire is associated with the devil.

From a scientific point of view, this does not make logical sense. Fire is just a chemical reaction of elements created by God in the first place and fire has great use in this world. Our very sun that warms our earth and keeps life sustained is made of this element.

Walking across the fire does not necessarily equate to opening one’s self up to demons entering into your life, but it may give you very bad blisters.

Levitation– Show me one person who actually has done this with their physical body, and then we will talk beyond opinions about unknown energies working to levitate the body.

Alt comix– Meaning “alternative comics” or “Indie comics” are comic strips that have a variety of themes, subjects, and ideas. Once again this would have to be viewed on a case to case basis. Obviously if a comic artist drew demonic symbols with a chant to open portals to demonic possession would be frowned upon. That is the only logical scenario I could see as directly communicating and asking to have lower frequency beings enter into your life.

Vampirism-the act of drinking blood. This is a major no-no as a human…we should be beyond drinking eachother’s blood and lifeforce as spiritual beings. It also can make you ill. I would say this could invite some nasty energy into your life if you dabble with this.

Trilateralism-this is the idea of engaging in a three party agreement or negotiations with other nations. This is a bit far reaching to say these agreements among allies leads to demonic possession. This shows the ad author’s political stance more so than spiritual wisdom.

Marihuana & Pot parties– First off they spelled “Marijuana” wrong in a newspaper ad. This could be a clue about the person’s intellect level. As it is spelled phonetically if someone pronounced it wrong always, anyways, without further education.

Drugs do open windows to other levels of awareness. Marijuana does come from the earth, and it also has a strong medicinal purpose of helping people with nerve disease such as ALS and other debilitating diseases. I would proceed with caution with any type of drug, but understand that this particular plant comes from our God that creates all nature.

LSD shrooms- organic mushrooms known to cause hallucinations. Drugs only cause the brain to experience heightened states because of the chemical reactions they cause in the body that release certain endorphins. Anything that can open up awareness to higher states can be seen as problematic in a lowered state of consciousness. This would have to be on a case to case basis. I wouldn’t recommend doing it daily as it could make your reality very confusing. Drug problems or addictions can become a true hinderance to spiritual aptitude.
Demonic possession? Well since drugs alter your own body’s chemical, it’s hard to say if that truly means an outside force can really come into your consciousness at all, being that drugs only work with your own chemicals inside to release them at unnatural rates.
Once again, mushrooms are organic substances created in nature. Can’t be that bad if it’s already created by God. God doesn’t make mistakes…or booby traps to insnare humans. It is important to realize this. God is NOT evil. God is our teacher.
Video games-this is clearly illogical to suggest this form of technological entertainment could lead to opening one’s self to Satan.
Violent video games have been connected to a violent nature, but not always. There are some causes for concern when you can act out “sins” in video format and be ok with that. It can desensitize you. This can do harm to your moral framework more so than invite negative entities into your life.
Harry Potter– I laugh a little bit at this. I know it was a big thing within the Christian churches to get parents to ban the reading of these books, but that’s only because the book is about magic and young wizards learning how to use it. It contains no real magical knowledge and is a fun fantasy into a young boy who discovers his true higher purpose, to banish an evil magician who threatens to spread darkness in the world.
I believe that Christians need to look at the context of the messages taught in Harry Potter books and movies to understand the good inside of them.

Harry Potter is full of flying broomsticks and wands, but the bigger picture is it’s about friendship, love and courage in the face of evil that threatens all these things that make us connected to the Divine.

In many ways, these books are about fighting the “devil” not inviting or worshipping it.
It’s important to understand magic is really just the nature of laws within science and is the advanced understanding of “thoughts form your reality”. It’s not magical, it’s practical knowledge of how the universe has been constructed to respond to our actions, thoughts and lives we choose to live.

“Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all those who live without love.”

— Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

How could a book be this evil with a beautiful quote like this one?

Dungeons & Dragons- N/A

Halloween- All Hallow’s Eve as it was called, used to be a very pagan holiday of celebrating the time when the veil between the spirit world and physical one thinned , but it has been tamed and stripped of its spirituality leaving kids in costumes getting candy from strangers in America. I am sure some Halloween activities could lead some astray, but If you dress your baby up as a pumpkin, I can assure you that you are not inviting evil spirits to take over your life. Look into Samhain celebrated by witches, to understand why Christians sometimes frown upon Halloween. I think it is important to discern between the two different holidays today and not judge individual’s who celebrate them.

Fornication- sexual acts seen to go beyond procreation. I would never judge others in what they do with their bodies behind closed doors, and I don’t believe doing these things automatically connect to Satan. The Quran says in one verse about “lovemaking” at night is that Allah knows what we do between ourselves, just don’t let it happen in the mosque or during reflection time to God. Sexual acts are for us to enjoy each other, but not get trapped into the desires for only the physical and sensuous world.

Skull & Bones- a secret club built with Ivy League boys, in which Freemasonry is practiced and rituals are exercised. I would say this group of men are too young and inexperienced to really understand what they are doing to do rituals that face death in such a way as I have learned they do. I have a bit of a problem with fraternities in the first place, let alone one that dabbles in the occult with some of the wealthiest and “groomed” future political and corporations leaders.
Demonic possession? Possibly…these men come out of this organization as complete unawakened zombies who want wealth and status, and will cause wars to get it. See George Bush Jr.

Rock Music- music is just waves and vibrations. Some can lead to lower vibrational states and some higher (emotions felt). Depends much on the lyrics here if it opens you up to allowing Satanic forces into your life. I wonder if this person who wrote the ad likes the genre of Christian Rock music?

Heavy Metal Music- Same thing as Rock Music from a science perspective. This time, the sounds are harsher, louder, and more discord is involved. Overtime this music could possibly make a person more angrier of a person since the lyrics usually are heartfelt, but a scream of anger towards the world. It’s not my style, but to say it’s automatic Satan worship and demonic possession is a bit of a reach into the realms of opinion. Let God judge a person..I don’t think we should concern ourselves with other’s musical styles.

Burning Man-I have no experience or knowledge other than I know it’s a festival that takes place in a desert somewhere. Yes there is music, drugs and human recreational activities taking place, but I can not discuss something I don’t have knowledge about.

Demonic possession? N/A

Twilight films- Young teenage fantasy saga about a human falling in love with a vampire. The writer’s intention behind to tell a story about star crossed lovers seems to have some beautiful themes involved, but ultimately it is about creatures that feed off the blood of humans. Demonic possession with interest in this story will ultimately depend on how FAR does the reader take their interest and the intentions of loving this story. It is important to note that in this saga there are good vampires and then there are bad ones.
Raves & XTC– Dances and general get together where drugs, alcohol and sex can possibly be involved.

Demonic possession? N/A

Gothic Culture– “goth” is a culture that focuses on darkness and death being beautiful and often times is morbid, emotional, and very dramatic. I have known there to be gothic church architecture and art styles found within Christianity. Since it’s a genre that can be expressed in many ways, demonic possession would have to be looked at from the point of reference of understanding the intentions behind wanting to be goth or enjoying gothic things. Death CAN be beautiful if you do believe that life goes on, and not all goths are unhappy and depressed  people that would possibly invite lower energies to cling on to them.

I would not and could not make such wild accusations like this ad attempts to. I believe that there is One creative force we come from that unites us, and if anything leads to the same understanding showing: unity, love, brotherhood and sisterhood, friendship, courage, righteousness, and goodness, then you could not ever mistake that for evil.
