I watched SNL last night and Aziz Ansari called to those that care about the racism in this country coming to head, to write an essay about the “lowercase kkk” that is forming as a reaction to Trump’s rhetoric. Since I love to write, I decided he was talking to me.
I have noticed this too. Trump himself may not be openly racist or even a racist himself, but he definitely is sheltered around rich white people all his life. He does not have the life experience and immersion with people of different nationalities or color to him. But something has happened in America, a really ugly thing.
Seeing that there were photos of white supremacists attending Trump’s inauguration, we know that SOMETHING he has said or evoked caused them to crawl out of the woodworks and dust off their old KKK hats. Some people are not even that “hardcore” racist, and they are generally nice people, but you see them say ” Go back to Mexico” online or other nonsensical things today. These people are known as the lowercase kkk, who may have some strange fears of foreign people and pre judgments, but are not THAT racist. Somehow, Trump has made them become a little more openminded with their racism to start to vocalize these fears they have of people from different cultures and ethnicities than them.
Like Aziz, says, these people need to go back to pretending if they truly can not find the commonality between people. They should not use Trump’s sheltered view of a white America, as a means to justify their hate, or fear towards people different from them. Trump did not call out the Nazi party or KKK, they decided to come out when they heard a few buzzwords from Trump. It needs to stop. Both the “capital” KKK, and the “lowercase” kkk.
I was a marcher, who chanted “Love Trumps Hate” just like this photo, because I wanted to show my support in numbers and help grow this idea. It is true, Love always wins in the end. So if people want to hate people they don’t even know, that is their choice, but the LOVE people demonstrate towards one another will be a stronger demonstration, because somehow deep inside, we all KNOW the secret that we are all connected to the Creator of this field of physical reality and spiritual experience.
We are told in the Quran as well as the Bible, and many other religious books, that in the very END-Love, Justice, Truth, and Mercy will be the final events of this world when God and His Angels come to lead us onto the next stage. It is your choice to decide what side you will be on.
