Happy International Woman’s Day!!

One of the things I am constantly having to fight people about is the idea that women are repressed in the Quran or in Islam. Let me just say, I or any other strong muslim woman would not adhere to such a doctrine if it truly cast women in a lesser light.

The Quran teaches me that women and men are equal in regards to worth and value in God’s eyes. There is one single part that says “woman and men are each other tilts, but men have a degree over woman”, but this is because they are physically stronger and at the time of 600AD when the Quran was being revealed, men were the protectors and financial support system of the women for all nations, not just in Arabia.

Only occasionally did you meet smart, independent women who did not rely on their body to get by. Women had it very tough back then, they were married off at young ages by their family, sold as sex and maternity slaves, and even had to sell their own body to earn their bread pre-Islam Arabia. The Quran actually is the only religious text I see that really starts putting the foot down for women in particular understanding the sensitive nature of gender inequality that men have always shown towards woman, from a lower consciousness of understanding.

4:19

O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality. And live with them in kindness.

You can not sell women as slaves or marry them by force in Islam. You may not use orphaned or young girls unjustly. You must be kind and treat them right as long as the women are not murderous towards you. In which then criminally insane women need to be tried and found out if guilty or not by witness party, under the warnings of God not to lie about a woman. The Quran also makes laws to take care of widowed or divorced women too, so a man can not use a woman and then send her out to be a beggar on the street as she ages. There are rules and laws to protect women from some men’s desires and greediness, and under the fear of God’s wrath, men are made to obey them.  You may not take or confiscate woman’s property that was left for her just because she is a woman, as you can see in example here:

4:7

For men is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave, and for women is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave, be it little or much – an obligatory share.

Mary was regarded as a precious woman in God’s eyes, and here is the verse that shows how women are favored as bringers of life into the world of prophets:

3:42

And [mention] when the angels said, “O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds.

The Quran truly spoke to me as a strong woman today.

Many people want to believe the Hadiths that were written by men of what Muhammad did with young girls, and as a Muslim I know in my heart the Hadiths were warned about because they are taking the words from outside of the Quran and taken in as truth by so many muslims today. But the Hadiths are interpretations of what Muhammad did and said by other men who divided Islam into different sections, and as we know by now, the Quran says “Say:…” and THAT is what I believe Muhammad to have done and said to the people.

Muhammad was instilled with the value of women by Archangel Gabriel and I believed he carried that message out as far as he could, until he died. Some wonderful Muslim men have followed this path and have treated women with so much respect and care all over the world, I know, I am marrying one soon this year! He is the most caring, protective and supportive man I have ever met, and I am so lucky to have been brought into Islam after meeting him, on my own spiritual journey to discover the truth.

What other men may do today in their own culture and traditions, against women are not something that goes unseen or unnoticed by the angels and God.  All truth will be revealed in the end of their lives. Sex trade rings, women abuse, women force and rape against them, female genital mutilation surgeries, child brides, unequal pay and rights all these things and more will be brought to the surface, in society. It already has and will continue to be purged with the truth from God.

Many men forget that Eve and Adam were once one single soul before the divide. While we wait for many men to realize their mistakes in their own lifetimes and our oneness, we women must always stand together as spiritual sisters.

Here is a fascinating look at how International Woman’s Day begun on March 8, the day I was born into ;)…

Is the Illuminati Bad?: An Indigo Muslim’s Perspective.

Gosh. It really is confusing times. To discern between what kind of wisdom is from God and what is not.
The way I do this is not through any rituals or means of channeling. It is just done through investigation into intentions. So right now, we have the branch of Freemasons called illuminati using the “third eye” as a symbol of “awakening”, and so does Indigo conscious humans too. So am I illuminati? Are all the Indigo adults part of it too?
I would say no. And here is why. Wisdom is from the same “tree of knowledge” in the universe. We all have the ability to grasp the knowledge in the universe that God allowed us to live out our existence knowing from right and wrong. All this same knowledge is given to us freely. You can choose to tap into it or ignore it, and just live a “normal” life without the concern of trying to understand the truth.
But if all the knowledge in the universe is free, and we all can reach the same conclusion what makes some groups bad and others not? Well, to me it has to do with intentions. This is where being an empath can help, by tapping a bit into the emotional state that people are in when they decide to do something.
I said this before in my blog, about Miley Cyrus and other stars using the symbol of illuminati to promote awareness and enlightenment. But if someone is allowing the suffering of others and the SINFUL/Haram wealth distribution on earth that we have going on today, are they really that enlightened? Yes their life may be “co-created” beautifully through houses, cars, money, luxuries that normal people can not buy, but are they really “enlightened” if others are still suffering?
Someone who is truly enlightened will not consider themselves rulers of others, or it permissible to live like kings while others are really hurting in the world. The working class is really suffering trying to hold up to the demands of the others on top-the elite.
So a middle class “indigo” muslim like me, is not really the same as the wealthy elites who push that they belong to the illuminati and have become Gods of the world. I don’t agree with living extravagantly while others are bones and dying of thirst. It just doesn’t sit right with me. So while majorly influential people are living life to their fullest dreams, they have become unaware of others who are not.
I am not saying that everyone who becomes an illuminati member is bad at all. I am advocating for people to start to see WHO is each behind the idea and what are their actions. What is their true intention to living? You can always see if a person really is in service to Light, or if they are just saying that.
When I say service to the Light, I mean in service to God, like Moses, Jesus and Muhammad and many others were. It is a role to play and a path to fulfill based on personal choices to be a believer or not.
So yes, the illuminati may teach to open the third eye and awaken, but unless they are teaching that we are all from God, and to help everyone live an equally peaceful life-I don’t consider their enlightenment from God. The idea we are all gods experiencing life subjectively really is just for a plumped up ego to already satisfy the needs to feel loved and special.
I hope one day everyone-Illuminati or not, can realize they are special, but we are all special and it is time we start living in a society that reflect this. It starts with wealth distribution-that needs to become more fair so people earn what they truly put in. CEOs and heads of corporations should not be taking million dollar salaries if their employees are on food stamps…it doesn’t make sense. We need to alter this idea of being gods of our own universe that the illuminati and Jay Z are trying to teach. We need to start to see we are all from God, and the way to coming back is to realize we need to treat everyone truly equally as part of the Whole.
When those in charge who brand themselves as illuminati members, start to usher in a beautiful new experience for all physically through change of government and economic structure, THEN I will consider them part of Indigo consciousness that they try to promote.
So in answer: Some are good and some are bad, it all depends on how they choose to act upon the knowledge they have gained.

Surah An-Nisa : Chapter 4 (line 10-20) Women

10. Those who consume the wealth of orphans illicitly consume only fire into their bellies; and they will roast in a Blaze.

11. God instructs you regarding your children: The male receives the equivalent of the share of two females. If they are daughters, more than two, they get two-thirds of what he leaves. If there is only one, she gets one-half. As for the parents, each gets one-sixth of what he leaves, if he had children. If he had no children, and his parents inherit from him, his mother gets one-third. If he has siblings, his mother gets one-sixth. After fulfilling any bequest and paying off debts. Your parents and your children-you do not know which are closer to you in welfare. This is God’s Law. God is Knowing and Judicious.

12. You get one-half of what your wives leave behind, if they had no children. If they had children, you get one-fourth of what they leave. After fulfilling any bequest and paying off debts. They get one-fourth of what you leave behind, if you have no children. If you have children, they get one-eighth of what you leave. After fulfilling any bequest and paying off debts. If a man or woman leaves neither parents nor children, but has a brother or sister, each of them gets one-sixth. If there are more siblings, they share one-third. After fulfilling any bequest and paying off debts, without any prejudice. This is a will from God. God is Knowing and Clement.

13. These are the bounds set by God. Whoever obeys God and His Messenger, He will admit him into Gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein forever. That is the great attainment.

14. But whoever disobeys God and His Messenger, and oversteps His bounds, He will admit him into a Fire, wherein he abides forever, and he will have a shameful punishment.

15. Those of your women who commit lewdness, you must have four witnesses against them, from among you. If they testify, confine them to the homes until death claims them, or God makes a way for them.

16. If two men among you commit it, punish them both. But if they repent and reform, leave them alone. God is Redeemer, Full of Mercy.

17. Repentance is available from God for those who commit evil out of ignorance, and then repent soon after. These-God will relent towards them. God is Knowing and Wise.

18. But repentance is not available for those who commit evils, until when death approaches one of them, he says, “Now I repent,” nor for those who die as disbelievers. These-We have prepared for them a painful torment.

19. O you who believe! It is not permitted for you to inherit women against their will. And do not coerce them in order to take away some of what you had given them, unless they commit a proven adultery. And live with them in kindness. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike something in which God has placed much good.

20. If you wish to replace one wife with another, and you have given one of them a fortune, take nothing back from it. Would you take it back fraudulently and sinfully?

My Interpretation:

Wealth distribution in society is being laid out in terms of what is ethical and reasonable. Since men were the earners of the family in the past, they should receive twice as much as the females because the men are the providers. Men had to buy the materials to create a home, earn a living working hard in the sun to pay for food not grown by him. Men had the majority of financial responsibilities back then while women cleaned, cooked, and took care of children.

Gabriel is speaking towards the time at hand in 600AD and many people who read the Quran forget this. This needs to be taken into context of the time in history to fully understand the Quran and it’s laws. Still today, many women do stay home with the children while the men work. I personally, love this role as a care giver. Some women will work as well as their husband, but someone has to care for the children, so either it is you as the parent, or a nanny.

The distribution laws between relatives continue and it can be seen as a logical distribution according to the person’s age, status in life, and needs. There is a warning to remember these fair boundaries set and to not overstep them and take more of your share, or it can cause you to imprint badly on your own soul.

God makes it very hard to punish people. But in any society some form of justice has to be taken, so here Muhammad is given a way to protect women from unjust accusations of their personal character. It must be VERY hard to get 4 witnesses to say truthfully with the fear of God, that a women was acting in adultery. So instead of just having a riot charge at the prostitute that Jesus saved, named Mary Magdalene, there must be a true trial and witnesses. God must have found something honorable in her heart in order for Jesus to recognize her and to teach the people the unjustness of their ways.

Now in Arabia, a just trial had to be given where 4 people were true witnesses to seeing a women be a prostitute or cheat on her husband. And once again God knows the women’s heart. So if they are truly guilty of not being a good women who cares for herself and others, then she will perish in a prison. But if God does find her innocent or worthy of mercy in her quest for forgiveness, then through the acts of others, she will be released.

No more can men make one claim against a woman he lusts for or does not like, and she be killed by a riot or himself. NOW a law is established in these once pagan lands in Arabia.

Even men are not exempt from sleeping around on their wives now. They will be punished in the same way by God, except if they show sincere change and repent. But if someone is too stubborn to seek forgiveness until the day they fear their death-it is too late to show your change.

It was very difficult to be a woman BEFORE Islam, in these desert lands. As you can see women were forced into situations without any prior knowledge of consequences. God is indeed the protector of innocent women. No longer can a man rape, force a woman into a relationship with him, take all her wealth away, and then leave a woman for another younger woman. God is always watching and the Angels are always recording.

Men must be kind and just towards women-ALWAYS.

Surah Al-Baqarah: Chapter 2 (line 280-286) The Cow

280. But if he is in hardship, then deferment until a time of ease. But to remit it as charity is better for you, if you only knew.

281. And guard yourselves against a Day when you will be returned to God; then each soul will be rewarded fully for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.

282. O you who believe! When you incur debt among yourselves for a certain period of time, write it down. And have a scribe write in your presence, in all fairness. And let no scribe refuse to write, as God has taught him. So let him write, and let the debtor dictate. And let him fear God, his Lord, and diminish nothing from it. But if the debtor is mentally deficient, or weak, or unable to dictate, then let his guardian dictate with honesty. And call to witness two men from among you. If two men are not available, then one man and two women whose testimony is acceptable to all-if one of them fails to remember, the other would remind her. Witnesses must not refuse when called upon. And do not think it too trivial to write down, whether small or large, including the time of repayment. That is more equitable with God, and stronger as evidence, and more likely to prevent doubt-except in the case of a spot transaction between you-then there is no blame on you if you do not write it down. And let there be witnesses whenever you conclude a contract, and let no harm be done to either scribe or witness. If you do that, it is corruption on your part. And fear God. God teaches you. God is aware of everything.

283. If you are on a journey, and cannot find a scribe, then a security deposit should be handed over. But if you trust one another, let the trustee fulfill his trust, and let him fear God, his Lord. And do not conceal testimony. Whoever conceals it is sinner at heart. God is aware of what you do.

284. To God belongs everything in the heavens and the earth. Whether you reveal what is within your selves, or conceal it, God will call you to account for it. He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills. God is Able to do all things.

285. The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, as did the believers. They all have believed in God, and His angels, and His scriptures, and His messengers: “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” And they say, “We hear and we obey. Your forgiveness, our Lord. To you is the destiny.”

286. God does not burden any soul beyond its capacity. To its credit is what it earns, and against it is what it commits. “Our Lord, do not condemn us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, do not burden us as You have burdened those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with more than we have strength to bear; and pardon us, and forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Lord and Master, so help us against the disbelieving people.”

My Interpretation:

This is a detailed explanation of the best way to handle loaning and borrowing which as we can see, even in ancient times, was important for some people. This is the introduction of the loan contract without interest adding. In order for a contract to be accepted you must have witnesses to say that this business transaction did happen between the two people. It must be written by a scribe or someone who could write, so that there is a record of this loan agreement. If there can not be a loan agreement written since no one can write in the area, then a security deposit of a valuable given to the person who loaned you money is needed. Both sides of the loaner and loanee needs to be honorable and honest.

There is a reminder to always be honest with your words and to be reminded that God sees everything that we do and is aware of the trust broken between two people with an agreement like this. So pay back loans interest free and use a just form of commerce for mankind to benefit all equally. Do not lie, steal or conceal sins. God sees all.

God only gives you what you can handle, and to be a muslim, a true submitter to God, you must full heartedly believe in all the messages given to us and make no distinction between the messengers even though they may be different ethnically, or culturally. They all come from the same source of Loving and Merciful guidance for mankind.
