Top Quran Lines & Verses That Can Make You Love Jesus Even More.

I love Jesus. I do not worship him, but my heart is brimming with love for his sense of divine self and humanity given to others. He was a wonderful being divinely created for a higher purpose for us. I love him for who he was, and who he will be eternally as a prophet, messenger, and physical representation of the love that God has for humans sent as a Mercy to us.

Here are the top Quran verses to make you love Jesus EVEN more than you already do. ❤

2:87 And We did certainly give Moses the Torah and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit.

2:253 Those messengers – some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the Son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit.

3:45 [And mention] when the angels said, “O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary – distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah ].

3:48-49 And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], ‘Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah . And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead – by permission of Allah . And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.

3:52-55 But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, “Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah ?” The disciples said,” We are supporters for Allah . We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]. Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and have followed the messenger Jesus, so register us among the witnesses [to truth].” And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners. [Mention] when Allah said, “O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.

3:59 Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, “Be,” and he was.

5:46 And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous.

21:91 And (remember) her (Mary) who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples.

43:59 Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.

43:61 And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path.

43:63 And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, “I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear (respect) Allah and obey me.

57:27 Then We sent following their footsteps Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah . But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

61:6 And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, “O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad.” But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, “This is obvious magic.”

19:12 [ Allah ] said, “O John, take the Scripture with determination.” And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy And affection from Us and purity, and he was fearing of Allah. And dutiful to his parents, and he was not a disobedient tyrant. And peace be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive.

19:16-21 And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east. And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel, and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man. She said, “Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah .” He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy.” She said, “How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?”  He said, “Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.’ “

19:30-34 [Jesus] said, “Indeed, I am the servant of Allah . He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and charity as long as I remain alive. And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant. And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive.” That is Jesus, the son of Mary – the word of truth about which they are in dispute.

19:36[Jesus said], “And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”

5:118 Jesus will say…If You should punish them – indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them – indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

True Muslims see Jesus as a divine being created from God for an example of our potential for humanity and a Mercy to us.

Surah Hud: Chapter 11 (line 20-30) Hud

20. These will not escape on earth, and they have no protectors besides God. The punishment will be doubled for them. They have failed to hear, and they have failed to see.

21. Those are the ones who lost their souls, and what they had invented has strayed away from them.

22. Without a doubt, in the Hereafter, they will be the biggest losers.

23. As for those who believe and do good deeds, and humble themselves before their Lord-these are the inhabitants of Paradise, where they will abide forever.

24. The parable of the two groups is that of the blind and the deaf, and the seeing and the hearing. Are they equal in comparison? Will you not reflect?

25. We sent Noah to his people, “I am to you a clear warner.”

26. “That you shall worship none but God. I fear for you the agony of a painful Day.”

27. The notables who disbelieved among his people said, “We see in you nothing but a man like us, and we see that only the worst among us have followed you, those of immature judgment. And we see that you have no advantage over us. In fact, we think you are liars.”

28. He said, “O my people, Have you considered? If I stand on clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me a mercy from Himself, but you were blind to it, can we compel you to accept it, even though you dislike it?”

29. “O my people! I ask of you no money for it. My reward lies only with God. And I am not about to dismiss those who believed; they will surely meet their Lord. And I see that you are ignorant people.”

30. “O my people! Who will support me against God, if I dismiss them? Will you not give a thought?”

My interpretation:

I had to go back to include line 19 to understand 20,  “Those who hinder others from the path of God, and seek to make it crooked; and regarding the Hereafter, they are in denial.”

These are the ones who will not escape the judgment of God and the truth of what they have done spiritually to people will experience the harsh truth of what they have done. They will become the loser of paradise because of this guilt they will carry when everything is shown to them.

The believers who do good in the world, have faith in something outside themselves and money, will be the rewarded of paradise. Possibly because they will have learned the lessons their souls need to and have detached from their egos enough to experience bliss.

While there is nothing wrong with someone who looses their sight or is born without sight, the parable is trying to show that someone who doesn’t believe is just like a deaf or blind person. They can not see or hear the Signs from the Lord and will remain in disadvantage of those who can, by their own choice.

Gabriel tells Muhammad that Noah as a messenger said to the people that he had messages to give and for people to heed the warnings. They thought he was just like him and did not take him to be specially appointed to anything, so they laughed at Noah and ridiculed him while blocking others from coming to him to listen to the words of God. They called Noah immature, and others ignorant for following him. But truly they were the ignorant ones.

Noah tried hard to get people to listen to him. He said that he only stands as clear evidence of guidance from the Lord and that he doesn’t want power or money, but only to warn the people. His rewards lies with God and he made sure to tell the people that no reward on earth was he after.

Here at the last line, Noah is asking for  the people to support him and to see that he would never dismiss a person in their curiosity to hear what he has to say. He has a duty to perform for God and fears for his soul to abandon it.

Surah An-Nisa : Chapter 4 (line 160-170) Women

160. Due to wrongdoing on the part of the Jews, We forbade them good things that used to be lawful for them; and for deterring many from God’s path.

161. And for their taking usury, although they were forbidden it; and for their consuming people’s wealth dishonestly. We have prepared for the faithless among them a painful torment.

162. But those among them firmly rooted in knowledge, and the believers, believe in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you; and the observers of prayers, and the givers of charity, and the believers in God and the Last Day-upon these We will bestow an immense reward.

163. We have inspired you, as We had inspired Noah and the prophets after him. And We inspired Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and Jesus, and Job, and Jonah, and Aaron, and Solomon. And We gave David the Psalms.

164. Some messengers We have already told you about, while some messengers We have not told you about. And God spoke to Moses directly.

165. Messengers delivering good news, and bringing warnings; so that people may have no excuse before God after the coming of the messengers. God is Powerful and Wise.

166. But God bears witness to what He revealed to you. He revealed it with His knowledge. And the angels bear witness. Though God is a sufficient witness.

167. Those who disbelieve and repel from God’s path have gone far astray.

168. Those who disbelieve and transgress; God is not about to forgive them, nor will He guide them to any path.

169. Except to the path of Hell, where they will dwell forever. And that is easy for God.

170. O people! The Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe-that is best for you. But if you disbelieve, to God belongs everything in the heavens and the earth. God is Omniscient and Wise.

My Interpretation:

Muhammad is being told more about what has happened in religion and how usury or interest based commerce has taken advantage of people. At one time Jesus flipped the tables of gold and profit that the Pharisees were counting collected from the people. Jesus wanted to show that the taking of money away from the poor was unjust and God was not happy with them.

Muhammad is now to do the same thing, since people still did not listen. He is to be a warner about usury and a supporter of charity and good deeds to those who are doing them. Gabriel is saying that the Angels are inspiring Muhammad just as they have inspired the prophets and messengers of the other times. It is the same message continuing in order to help get mankind back on track once again.

There is proof that the Quran does not reveal everything to Muhammad and it is not for him or for us to know. There have been messengers and prophets in other parts of the world not known to Muhammad, but they have been there born to be a catalyst for the other lands. India, East Asia, Africa, S. and N. America have all had messengers and prophets. Any spiritual message given to the people with good benefits for mankind and to help guide them to goodness, can be seen as coming from this ancient wisdom and knowledge. Europe and the Middle East was not the only ones to receive the guidance from God. It is extremely important to recognize this in regards to unity.

The Quran finally tells us what all good people of faith believe-we have always been guided towards our Highest Good by teachers, messengers, and prophets all over the world born for this very purpose.

angels

Surah An-Nisa : Chapter 4 (line 70-80) Women

70. That is the grace from God. God suffices as Knower.

71. O you who believe! Take your precautions, and mobilize in groups, or mobilize altogether.

72. Among you is he who lags behind. Then, when a calamity befalls you, he says, “God has favored me, that I was not martyred with them.”

73. But when some bounty from God comes to you, he says-as if no affection existed between you and him-“If only I had been with them, I would have achieved a great victory.”

74. Let those who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter fight in the cause of God. Whoever fights in the cause of God, and then is killed, or achieves victory, We will grant him a great compensation.

75. And why would you not fight in the cause of God, and the helpless men, and women, and children, cry out, “Our Lord, deliver us from this town whose people are oppressive, and appoint for us from Your Presence a Protector, and appoint for us from Your Presence a Victor.”

76. Those who believe fight in the cause of God, while those who disbelieve fight in the cause of Evil. So fight the allies of the Devil. Surely the strategy of the Devil is weak.

77. Have you not considered those who were told, “Restrain your hands, and perform your prayers, and spend in regular charity”? But when fighting was ordained for them, a faction of them feared the people as God is ought to be feared, or even more. And they said, “Our Lord, why did You ordain fighting for us? If only You would postpone it for us for a short while.” Say, “The enjoyments of this life are brief, but the Hereafter is better for the righteous, and you will not be wronged one bit.”

78. Wherever you may be, death will catch up with you, even if you were in fortified towers. When a good fortune comes their way, they say, “This is from God.” But when a misfortune befalls them, they say, “This is from you.” Say, “All is from God.” So what is the matter with these people, that they hardly understand a thing?

79. Whatever good happens to you is from God, and whatever bad happens to you is from your own self. We sent you to humanity as a messenger, and God is Witness enough.

80. Whoever obeys the Messenger is obeying God. And whoever turns away-We did not send you as a watcher over them.

My Interpretation:

Gabriel gives Muhammad an example that if people stay behind in war and are not killed, they feel blessed. But really the ones who courageously fight against evil, are the blessed ones. Because what matters is not this life, but how well you live it, and the causes you die and fight for. God sees their courageous sacrifice to better the life of others as they fight off the evil.

The Angel is telling Muhammad the reality of war. At this time in history, the Mecca leaders have gotten to so oppressive to those who do not follow their ancient customs of pagan worship, that we hear men, women, and children are crying out. The situation has become so hard for people that the people who have a chance to do anything are called to fight back and protect those who are weak.

I imagine and have seen documentaries on preIslam Arabia that shows ancient customs that did not make sense and benefited the rich, while being unfair to the poor class. When Islam came about, it was the first time that a slave could be seen as equal spiritually and in worth, to a king. These Mecca leaders did not like this new teaching, that threatened their old way of life they have grown comfortable with. They were used to having slaves,  having a ruling class of  men that hoarded women and gold saying it was from their gods. Pagan rites and rituals they did for their 300 gods and goddesses, that they made up or created that established caste systems. It was all too hard to give up when Muhammad started to give them the warnings.

These ten lines gives us a glimpse of the nature of Angels. They are not peaceful and gentle creatures at all times as sometimes is seen in angel worship. They are strong, and sometimes even fierce creatures.  In Christianity, it is said that Michael and the other archangels fought a war in heaven, against Lucifer’s (Iblis’s) followers. Those angels became the “fallen” as they were defeated by the angels and came down to earth as “demons”. Here we get an accurate description of how this angel is saying that it is sometimes a necessity to go to war even when humans do not like it. There is honor in these types of war, where the evil becomes so imbalanced that the only choice is to fight against it.

It is now time, where the muslims do not have a choice against those who will not stop until they are shown how great Muhammad’s army can be with the angels backing them.

Gabriel says this to Muhammad to tell the people that whatever good comes to people are blessings, but whatever bad is not from an “evil” God, it is from their own selves. It is cause and effect. Something they did, caused a negative reaction and it is time to take responsibility for it. These are the laws that God set for the universe and gives us the most freedom to create the life we wish within clear boundaries.

Muhammad is given clear boundaries to his duties at this point, he is told that he is being sent to humanity as a messenger only, not a watcher of their behavior or a judger. He only needs to give the warnings  to the transgressors, and good news to the good people. God watches and judges.

Islam is against all manmade caste systems

Surah Ali-Imran: Chapter 3 (line 50-60) The Family of Iram

50. “And verifying what lies before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord; so fear God, and obey me.”

51. “God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”

52. When Jesus sensed disbelief on their part, he said, “Who are my allies towards God?” The disciples said, “We are God’s allies; we have believed in God, and bear witness that we submit.”

53. “Our Lord, we have believed in what You have revealed, and we have followed the Messenger, so count us among the witnesses.”

54. They planned, and God planned; but God is the Best of planners.

55. God said, “O Jesus, I am terminating your life, and raising you to Me, and clearing you of those who disbelieve. And I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return; then I will judge between you regarding what you were disputing.

56. As for those who disbelieve, I will punish them with a severe punishment, in this world and the next, and they will have no helpers.

57. And as for those who believe and do good works, He will give them their rewards in full. God does not love the unjust.”

58. This is what We recite to you of the Verses and the Wise Reminder.

59. The likeness of Jesus in God’s sight is that of Adam: He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be,” and he was.

60. The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt.

My Interpretation:

Muhammad is being told about Jesus and what happened while he was here on earth. Jesus was given the Holy Spirit to do miracles and he was sent as a trail among men. Jesus taught his followers to worship one God. God knew that the Roman leaders and Pharisees were coming together in order to kill the man they viewed as disruptive to their lifestyle of wealth and power, so God planned to raise Jesus to Him before they could take his life.

Now this is where the difference between Christianity happens with Muslims. Some Muslim scholars think that Jesus did live a life, escaping from his death, but there is no evidence further in the Quran of this. All we know in this particular verse is that God raised Jesus to Himself, which means Jesus left this earth physically, but his soul remained untainted by death. I see this as a way of saying that when God decided Jesus was to be saved from the torment of these corrupt men, Jesus died a painless and peaceful death in response to being such a devout servant all his life.

There is such a vagueness in these verses about Jesus and as it says, the clue is in there as to why. It is for God to see how would each person interpret Jesus’s life and death. It is a test, that the Grand teacher is giving each of us. Will we believe Jesus in worship of ONE God? Will we follow Jesus’s teachings? What will we do with his death? These are all questions God asks you each.

The way I choose to see Jesus’s life is as an example to us, to show our highest potential as a human being. Adam was created, just as Jesus was. Only God can understand ultimately the why or how, and in the End Times Jesus will be used as a measure for each of our souls.

I choose to see unity between all religions in regards to this man in his teachings. If Christians want to say one thing, and Jews another..it ultimately does not bother me. They are still my family under God and knowing the Quran, I see this regardless of the difference of opinions whether Jesus was a servant or God himself. I still function daily in life as a muslim, and this means I am to be kind, thoughtful, and unity driven towards my fellow beings.

As a muslim, I follow Jesus’s Way as John has said in the Bible. His Way of LIFE, that is. I will help those who need it, see beyond differences, and worship the one God who created us, knowing that one day I will be returned to Him with Jesus and all the other creations.

Surah Al-Baqarah: Chapter 2 (line 130-140) The Cow

130. Who would forsake the religion of Abraham, except he who fools himself? We chose him in this world, and in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.

131. When his Lord said to him, “Submit!” He said, “I have submitted to the Lord of the Worlds.”

132. And Abraham exhorted his sons, and Jacob, “O my sons, God has chosen this religion for you, so do not die unless you have submitted.”

133. Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, and he said to his sons, “What will you worship after Me?” They said, “We will worship your God, and the God of your fathers, Abraham, Ishmael, and Isaac; One God; and to Him we submit.”

134. That was a community that has passed; for them is what they have earned, and for you is what you have earned; and you will not be questioned about what they used to do.

135. And they say, “Be Jews or Christians, and you will be guided.” Say, “Rather, the religion of Abraham, the Monotheist; he was not an idolater.”

136. Say, “We believe in God; and in what was revealed to us; and in what was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs; and in what was given to Moses and Jesus; and in what was given to the prophets-from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we surrender.”

137. If they believe in the same as you have believed in, then they have been guided. But if they turn away, then they are in schism. God will protect you against them; for He is the Hearer, the Knower.

138. God’s coloring. And who gives better coloring than God? “And we are devoted to Him.”

139. Say, “Do you argue with us about God, when He is our Lord and your Lord, and We have our works, and you have your works, and we are sincere to Him?”

140. Or do you say that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Patriarchs were Jews or Christians? Say, “Do you know better, or God?” And who does greater wrong than he who conceals a testimony he has from God? God is not unaware of what you do.

My Interpretation:

Now we are getting deeper into the past, and showing how Islam is a call to revert back to the original religion of Abraham. Also as you can see, God includes Isaac and Ishmael as the righteous descendants of Abraham…so there you go. Jews and Muslims can end the debate forever. The brothers were equal in righteousness and considered as part of the bloodline of righteous believers.

Here Gabriel is saying Jews and Christians claim that the original religion is theirs. However historically, Abraham did not claim a name for the religion and instead it was a way of life of good deeds and monotheistic devotion. Islam is a way of life, and never was supposed to be a rigid religion and here we see this clearly.

spiritual truth

Surah Al-Baqarah: Chapter 2 (line 120-130) The Cow

120. The Jews and the Christians will not approve of you, unless you follow their creed. Say, “God’s guidance is the guidance.” Should you follow their desires, after the knowledge that has come to you, you will have in God neither guardian nor helper.

121. Those to whom We have given the Scripture follow it, as it ought to be followed-these believe in it. But as for those who reject it-these are the losers.

122. O Children of Israel! Remember My blessing which I bestowed upon you, and that I have favored you over all people.

123. And beware of a Day when no soul will avail another soul in any way, and no ransom will be accepted from it, and no intercession will benefit it, and they will not be helped.

124. And when his Lord tested Abraham with certain words, and he fulfilled them. He said, “I am making you a leader of humanity.” He said, “And my descendants?” He said, “My pledge does not include the wrongdoers.”

125. And We made the House a focal point for the people, and a sanctuary. Use the shrine of Abraham as a place of prayer. And We commissioned Abraham and Ishmael, “Sanctify My House for those who circle around it, and those who seclude themselves in it, and those who kneel and prostrate.”

126. When Abraham said, “O My Lord, make this a peaceful land, and provide its people with fruits-whoever of them believes in God and the Last Day.” He said, “And whoever disbelieves, I will give him a little enjoyment, then I will consign him to the punishment of the Fire; how miserable the destiny!”

127. As Abraham raises the foundations of the House, together with Ishmael, “Our Lord, accept it from us, You are the Hearer, the Knower.

128. Our Lord, and make us submissive to You, and from our descendants a community submissive to You. And show us our rites, and accept our repentance. You are the Acceptor of Repentance, the Merciful.

129. Our Lord, and raise up among them a messenger, of themselves, who will recite to them Your revelations, and teach them the Book and wisdom, and purify them. You are the Almighty, the Wise.”

130. Who would forsake the religion of Abraham, except he who fools himself? We chose him in this world, and in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.

My Interpretation:

Muhammad is being shown the truth of how Abraham had once done the same to speak up against the pagan idolatry of his people. He was tested with a trail that he passed that I will speak about later in the verses. And was considered God’s messenger to tell all the people that they needed to stop the pagan worship of their gods and goddesses that demanded blood and sacrifices.

Gabriel is saying that the Kabbah that was the place of worship of these gods was actually the shrine that Abraham converted his people to monotheism. The story is he smashed 300 idols of gods and goddesses inside the Kabbah. So today the Kabbah is not a thing to be worshipped, but a place of reflection for all the muslims had to endure in order to bring Islam to the land.

Gabriel also is giving Muhammad a prayer to say when the people are together by the Mecca in brotherhood and sisterhood.

Abraham becomes a great leader of his people with his son Ishmael. There is a point that Abraham says to God that he hopes his whole family can join him in this, and God replies saying that it is up to them whether they become one of the righteous. So clearly God does not say “No”, which is the constant conflict Jews and Muslims have together. Jews say it was Isaac who became the righteous leader with Abraham. Isaac was another son, and I will say in my heart I will not say whether Isaac was righteous or not, as God said…”My pledge does not include the wrongdoers.” So was Isaac not as morally upright as Ishmael? Or did God just leave it up to be discovered later? These are questions that continue to haunt the Jews and Muslims, but here I show it is not direct whether Isaac was not a righteous believer of God or not.

Paganism still exists today where many gods and goddesses are still worshipped. What I have come to see is this separates people into sects of each different god. We see it it history and the greeks even went to war over their gods. I also have come to see ALLAH means ONE, and so if you divide this ONE, you risk uniting what was always meant to be brought together again after the Tower of Babel event, where God made us all speak different languages so we could not build the Babylon tower of Nimrod.

To me, there is peaceful paganism which effects no one, but there is an ugly side to paganism that causes nothing but war, competition, and excess blood rituals and worships that evoke sprits and energies unseen. The Ancient Egyptians were great pagans, and their kingdoms were influenced by power and spiritual quest at the suffering of others to build it. The Ancient Greeks also were pagans that committed great sins for their gods killing Christians in Rome, when the Christians believed in one God, Jesus taught about.

So do you see? Paganism has also caused war and destruction as well.

When God is ONE, it becomes more clear and less manipulation can be had. It’s as if God wanted us all to realize we came from the same source by honoring the one source, we can come together as one in love and unity.
One God + One Book=One Love and Understanding

Surah Al-Baqarah: Chapter 2 (line 90-100) The Cow

91. And when it is said to them, “Believe in what God has revealed,” they say, “We believe in what was revealed to us,” and they reject anything beyond that, although it is the truth which confirms what they have. Say, “Why did you kill God’s prophets before, if you were believers?”

92. Moses came to you with clear proofs, yet you adopted the calf in his absence, and you were in the wrong.

93. And We made a covenant with you, and raised the Mount above you: “Take what We have given you firmly, and listen.” They said, “We hear and disobey.” And their hearts became filled with the love of the calf because of their disbelief. Say, “Wretched is what your faith commands you to do, if you are believers.”

94. Say, “If the Final Home with God is yours alone, to the exclusion of all other people, then wish for death if you are sincere.”

95. But they will never wish for it, because of what their hands have forwarded. God is aware of the evildoers.

96. You will find them, of all mankind, the most eager for life, even more than the polytheists. Every one of them wishes he could live a thousand years; but to be granted a long life will not nudge him from the punishment. God is Seeing of what they do.

97. Say, “Whoever is hostile to Gabriel-it is he who revealed it to your heart by God’s leave, confirming what preceded it, and guidance and good news for the believers.”

98. Whoever is hostile to God, and His angels, and His messengers, and Gabriel, and Michael-God is hostile to the faithless.

99. We have revealed to you clear signs, and none rejects them except the sinners.

100. Is it not that whenever they make a covenant, some of them toss it aside? In fact, most of them do not believe.

My Interpretation:

Archangel Gabriel is telling Muhammad about the way the Isralites leaders and their followers decided to stray from the truth and worship the Golden Calf. I know this deity as “Moloch” an ancient cow or bull god, that was said to give wealth and power if they sacrificed their children to fire by this statue. This was an ancient Israelite deity that some of them believed secretly in practice while, some of them believed in God. Not all of them trusted Moses nor followed his examples.

At this point I see God not as a jealous God, as the Bible says, but as a “concerned” one. Concerned that pagan worship would spread and human sacrifice will gain further influence over people’s minds. Islam is COMPLETELY against all human sacrifice or blood to God. There is no blood needed for the Lord of the Worlds that has all the blood drops as much as there are stars in the skies. The Burning Bush that spoke to Moses was to start this catalyst of getting mankind back on track of not worshipping evil and cruel gods that demand suffering. But some sadly did not want to listen.

There is an idea that there were other prophets as well as Moses, that were evil killed by those Jewish leaders unjustly. Gabriel is letting Muhammad know that you can never hide a thing from God and all lies are revealed eventually.

Anyone who is an open enemy to angels, prophets, messengers, or God…is on the side of the one who is an enemy to them as well-Satan.

Surah Al-Baqarah: Chapter 2 (line 80-90) The Cow

80. And they say, “The Fire will not touch us except for a number of days.” Say, “Have you received a promise from God-God never breaks His promise-or are you saying about God what you do not know?”

81. Indeed, whoever commits misdeeds, and becomes besieged by his iniquities-these are the inmates of the Fire, wherein they will dwell forever.

82. As for those who believe and do righteous deeds-these are the inhabitants of Paradise, wherein they will dwell forever.

83. We made a covenant with the Children of Israel: “Worship none but God; and be good to parents, and relatives, and orphans, and the needy; and speak nicely to people; and pray regularly, and give alms.” Then you turned away, except for a few of you, recanting.

84. And We made a covenant with you: “You shall not shed the blood of your own, nor shall you evict your own from your homes.” You agreed, and were all witnesses.

85. But here you are, killing your own, and expelling a group of your own from their homes-conspiring against them in wrongdoing and hostility. And if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, although it was forbidden to you. Is it that you believe in part of the Scripture, and disbelieve in part? What is the reward for those among you who do that but humiliation in this life? And on the Day of Resurrection, they will be assigned to the most severe torment. God is not unaware of what you do.

86. Those are they who bought the present life for the Hereafter, so the punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be helped.

87. We gave Moses the Scripture, and sent a succession of messengers after him. And We gave Jesus son of Mary the clear proofs, and We supported him with the Holy Spirit. Is it that whenever a messenger comes to you with anything your souls do not desire, you grew arrogant, calling some impostors, and killing others?

88. And they said, “Our hearts are sealed.” Rather, God has cursed them for their ingratitude. They have little faith.

89. And when a scripture came to them from God, confirming what they have-although previously they were seeking victory against those who disbelieved-but when there came to them what they recognized, they disbelieved in it. So God’s curse is upon the disbelievers.

90. Miserable is what they sold their souls for-rejecting what God has revealed, out of resentment that God would send down His grace upon whomever He chooses from among His servants. Thus they incurred wrath upon wrath. And there is a demeaning punishment for the disbelievers.

My Interpretation:

Archangel Gabriel is still telling Muhammad what happened to the Jewish nation after Moses gave commandments. This must have take place many years after Moses, where the commandments, Sabbath, and other rituals of worship has been altered by the Jewish priesthood. There is also a very sad idea that those in power and influence sold their own people into slavery. So once again this is proof to me that they are not speaking about all Jews, but are speaking to the wealthy elite class that once again lost their humility in their social status.

How sad for the Jews did Muhammad feel in his heart! I actually cry as I type this because I think it is so wrong for a class of people to create a caste system when we are all equal under God. Islam brings the idea that a good slave is loved and equal to a good king. There is no distinction in men in terms of wealth or power, there is only distinction in the hearts.

I will say looking at the Quran you learn that the poor class of Jews have been poorly treated in life, and I do believe they are part of the People of the Book, and will receive their rewards in heaven where they can finally have peace. I am crying still as I think of the Holocaust and how it was only the poor Jews that they saw as “undesirable” to be selected to work in the factories of Germany. So they put poor , old and disabled Jews into the fire. Well I will say with passionate conviction, God will put them in the fire that they showed others.

Everything is reflected back and your karma is REAL. God is saying in these passages that the pain that the leader Jews created for their own people will cause a suffering they can not escape from, even if this life allows them the freedom to live lavishly standing on the backs of others.

The Jewish elders rejected the Gospel coming to them only claiming the truth of the Torah, but God sent down this book as a test and as a support for the book they held as truth. This is why they plotted to kill Jesus later, threatened by the truth that they did not hold Heaven as monopoly.
