What Islam Teaches About Interfaith Relationship/Marriages

I got an email from someone who watches my channel on youtube, and this is my response to help them reach a point of bringing more unity into their life:

Salam,

My name is Shayan and I came to know you from your youtube channel. I found your videos very interesting about interpretation of Quran. I wanted to ask what exactly does Quran say about marrying a christian women. Are muslim men allowed to do that? I myself believe that it is allowed but i also heard some saying only allowed in muslim majority society or it is mukrooh (something not preferable).
I live in Europe and fell in love with christian girl. I wanted to marry her and was trying to convince my parents back in Pakistan. My dad didn’t want this to happen because he had the fear about the religion of kids from our family. Anyways later that girl broke up with me. And I believe religion played the part as well. My heart was really broken that how religion can affect our lives. But I really wanna know what exactly does Quran say about marriage with non-muslims.

My Response:

Authentic love is never a sin and you should show your parents the verse about how Christians are our brothers and sisters under God:

5:82
You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah ; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, “We are Christians.” That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.

*side note to 5:82-historically in context the “Jews” were the pharisees and elders that were against any non-Jews and called them goyim based on the Talmud Oral Law. Not the Jews of today who still follow Moses’s teachings to be good.

2:62
Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] – those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness – will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

As long as a Christian follows Jesus’s teachings and does not take the church as their God, or Jesus as a separate God….I would say your views in life match up and children can be raised in a spiritually clear household.

It would be important for her to accept Muhammad as also a prophet or a servant to God that helped spread the message to the Arab nation, as Jesus spread it to the Hebrews. If she did not and really disagreed with Islam being a true religion or whatever some Christians may think-it could cause issues later on in life.

I am getting married now to a Muslim man, like me, but I dated different religions. It can work….but the overall idea of respect towards all faiths needs to be in place. She needs to ultimately see Islam from the same God, and you need to see Christianity from the same God. Then the relationship can work and God can approve of your happiness, without a bad reflection upon it.

If she agrees that Islam is a true religion and she has her path, and you have yours then let your parents know that this is a mutually respective interfaith relationship and God would most certainly approve. Because remember Islam was to unite people together what was divided by the church and leaders of religion at that time.

Thanks for watching my videos, and let me know what happens…I am rooting for you!

Salam,

I post this to my blog in order to help anyone else who may be questioning this about Islam. Remember, a believer should marry a believer, and a Christian is another believer in God.

The Middle Way and My Awakening.

The “Middle Way” is the place between fanatical ideas about salvation from your only branch of religion, and no religion at all. It is the self realization that nothing matters most in life other than worship and devotion to being good, kind, wise and evolving and doing your part on earth in gratitude and humility that you were 1 out of million sperm chosen to be born from a womb and brought into this life.
I have awoken to the fact many years ago that Buddha, Krishna, Jesus, Muhammad, and many others not listed and listed in historical records have only tried to keep the momentum of human evolution going in order to reach our highest potential of created beings. I am not alone in this idea, and this link below shows how spiritual teachers from different nations connect.
For me this awakening or realization has created a deep feeling of unity and brotherhood/sisterhood to the nations of people. I have no borders in my mind in nations or religions, I only see that we all came from the same source and in our own way are taking a journey (short or long) to get back one day.
I didn’t post this to debate about it, I posted this to show a different perspective on worship that aims to stop the rights from being taken away to people with faith, and stops the persecution from those who have not found a conventional pathway to God.
In the end, we all go back to wherever we came from originally… and there is no debate about that. Our time is short here, so spend it wisely without fighting and arguing with malice in your hearts. I have learned in my 33 yrs on earth so far, to enjoy the moments given to you…and to see the expression of life and love everywhere.
I hope humanity reaches it’s fullest potential one day, and I wish I could be alive to see it’s peak reached. For now, I am enjoying how much we have grown over the years, subjects on empathy and other’s preservation is at the forefront of many people’s minds. We are in exciting times indeed, and I root for us to keep going.
Below is a link to a page I found while searching for the meaning of the Ginkgo tree, which happens to be the name of my wedding venue we are trying to book in 6 months. I found that first part of this site give the secret I have found Islam to bring people to those who truly study the words of the Quran in depth. Yes, all spiritual teachers have been delivered as Mercy by God to allow us to live on another day and stretch ourselves into the furthest reaches of evolution.

A Look Into Genesis: Why You Need Both the Bible and the Quran to Understand.

2:30 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, “Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority.” They said, “Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?” Allah said, “Indeed, I know that which you do not know.”

The story of Genesis in both the Bible and Quran is a mysterious wonder. Part of why so many people are becoming satanists today is because there have been some very sly teachers who have interpreted the messages about Lucifer as being Good for humanity, and the true lord of this world.

From all I know from my religious studies, I am finally absolutely convinced that God did NOT create Satan to be evil and shed bloodshed to watch us die and in pain. God is not sitting back with a giant bag of popcorn enjoying the show. Unfortunately this is the major argument satanists have today and believe God is evil and Satan is the true good one and savior to mankind’s “darkness” under God.

I am now starting to see things clearly especially with things happening the way they are in the world. Part of the falsehoods going on about Satan is because of the misinterpretation of how Satan was created. The Old Testament Torah/Bible left out a significant part about Lucifer NOT respecting humans, in the beginning.

You see many people who claim to be high level religious (catholic masons) actually are part of the illuminati because they believe Satan was the savior of humanity, bringing forth wisdom and knowing good from evil. But the Quran shows the unedited version of Satan’s hate for humans. I will never forget when someone once said to me that Satanists actually have a better grasp of the truer meaning of the Bible.

What he meant, was he is following the twisting of the Bible by some people serving Satan.

And when you put it together, it starts to make sense…I will now combine both the Quran and the Bible interpretation to bring the truth to the story by fitting all the puzzle pieces together.

Lucifer/Iblis was a being created before humans. He was standing in line with the angels as God showed them the newest creation, humans. The angels bowed in respect and friendship to the first prototype of human-Adam, vowing to be of service to them for all eternity. Lucifer/Iblis did not agree with the other angels. He was haughty and made of fire, while humans were this new creation made of the element of earth (carbon).

Fire is seen as exciting, aggressive, brilliant, strong, radiant, and flickering fast movement. Earth, elementally is grounded, slower, simple, sturdy, fruitful, and hard working. Satan/Iblis did not like this new creation that seemed so “small time” compared to him. He mocked and scoffed at us from a distance when Adam was raised as a soul into the Garden of Eden allowing his hate to grow deeper through time.

When the men gathered together to write the divine story of how evil and good came to be, they decided to use the snake as a symbolism for an animal that followed Satan’s orders. For some reason cold blooded reptilians were the ultimate symbol of manipulation and evil for humans, and still remains today. If you know anything about the reptilian alien race, this is where it comes from, I believe.

The snake is not known in the Quran since the Quran tries to be more direct 600 years later after Jesus gave the messages to the disciples to form the New Testament, to somewhat correct the Old. In the Quran, the “snake” is Satan who whispered to Eve that if she ate from a particular tree (not following God’s orders) she would be like an angel, or immortal.

The Bible, if twisted in interpretation can show Satan as a helper to Adam to allow his eyes to be opened of wisdom. Hence why many people call Lucifer the LightBearer. To them, he brought Light or Knowledge to humans. They see or have been manipulated to see this entity as the Light for people to be wise and know things that God was trying to keep hidden from us. This echoes the greek myth of the fire given to humans by Prometheus. http://www.prometheas.org/mythology.html

But the Quran shows that God is no tyrant, and there was a reason he did not want Adam and Eve to take from the tree. God was trying to keep us in the state of pure eternal bliss consciously because of His love for us. There was no hiding from Adam, a divine power. God was only trying to preserve our purity and morality that we were born into. When Adam and Eve finally took from the tree, the forbidden fruit, they were brought down to a more physical conscious level.

In the Bible’s sense, their eyes were open and sex was a big temptation from the devil, making Adam and Eve see their nakedness and know lust and pleasure. Knowing good from bad, and being wise gives you full knowledge, but with pleasure there is pain as well, in a physically sensuous world. In the Quran sense, it was more about the devil tempting us into becoming angels or immortals without regards for His first commands not to go near a special tree and the devil causing us to go down into a mental physical state from the spiritually pure one.

The idea to see the devil as a helper or friend of humanity is completely misinterpreted and twisted by those who wish to serve him. But as we know the angels wanted to know if the devil would shed bloodshed and chaos, while they spread harmony and joy from God to the humans. God knew what could possibly happen with our free will given. Would humans triumph against the devil? I believe that is what God meant when he said in the Quran to the angels, ” I know something you do not.”

There is something special about humans that allowed God to keep Iblis/Lucifer as an entity that we now call the title, the Devil or Satan. I don’t see God angry with us, but with knowing Adam and Eve have the predestined need to KNOW things, and to follow their hidden desires, this caused God to keep Lucifer/Iblis around to see who ELSE would follow him. It’s a way to test the true of heart from the easily corruptible ones. There must be a glorious faith in humanity that God has to allow us the ability to make the choice to defeat the Satan or to follow. We have had so many messengers, books inspired, angels, and spiritual teachers warning us about this temptation.

So therefore, as we see above when putting the Bible and the Quran together we see a very loving and TRUSTING Lord of all Worlds. He created us to be exceptional beings with the free will to decide our own fates. He was trying to protect us from falling from a blissful state, not keeping knowledge from us. Satan was no friend to humans, and till the end he remains an adversary to God to show how many he can corrupt away from Him. Hell is a place for those that made a choice to follow the devil because that is where he is going, and that is where he will lead others to consciously in the end when they follow their dark desires.

If you have been lead to follow this twisting of the intention of God, it is never too late to start to see Him as a loving Father who has faith in us as a species. Those with true faith will always SEE Him and find ways to become what we really are-pure beings capable of immense longevity and goodness in the universe.

Top Quran Lines & Verses That Can Make You Love Jesus Even More.

I love Jesus. I do not worship him, but my heart is brimming with love for his sense of divine self and humanity given to others. He was a wonderful being divinely created for a higher purpose for us. I love him for who he was, and who he will be eternally as a prophet, messenger, and physical representation of the love that God has for humans sent as a Mercy to us.

Here are the top Quran verses to make you love Jesus EVEN more than you already do. ❤

2:87 And We did certainly give Moses the Torah and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit.

2:253 Those messengers – some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the Son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit.

3:45 [And mention] when the angels said, “O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary – distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah ].

3:48-49 And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], ‘Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah . And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead – by permission of Allah . And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.

3:52-55 But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, “Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah ?” The disciples said,” We are supporters for Allah . We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]. Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and have followed the messenger Jesus, so register us among the witnesses [to truth].” And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners. [Mention] when Allah said, “O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.

3:59 Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, “Be,” and he was.

5:46 And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous.

21:91 And (remember) her (Mary) who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples.

43:59 Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.

43:61 And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path.

43:63 And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, “I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear (respect) Allah and obey me.

57:27 Then We sent following their footsteps Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah . But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

61:6 And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, “O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad.” But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, “This is obvious magic.”

19:12 [ Allah ] said, “O John, take the Scripture with determination.” And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy And affection from Us and purity, and he was fearing of Allah. And dutiful to his parents, and he was not a disobedient tyrant. And peace be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive.

19:16-21 And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east. And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel, and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man. She said, “Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah .” He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy.” She said, “How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?”  He said, “Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.’ “

19:30-34 [Jesus] said, “Indeed, I am the servant of Allah . He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and charity as long as I remain alive. And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant. And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive.” That is Jesus, the son of Mary – the word of truth about which they are in dispute.

19:36[Jesus said], “And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”

5:118 Jesus will say…If You should punish them – indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them – indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

True Muslims see Jesus as a divine being created from God for an example of our potential for humanity and a Mercy to us.

The Book That Weeps by Ro Waseem.

Quran: The Book That Weeps, Hidden Inside Its Shelf!
June 20, 2014
by Ro Waseem

The Quran is truly an amazing book. If there is one investment I have made that I will never regret in my life, it is the time I invested in understanding the Quran. The thing about the Quran is that it speaks to me like no other book I’ve read. Such is the magnificence of the book that there is never a hollow reading session; each time I walk away with some truly amazing insights I overlooked before.
What makes this possible is that there are, at least in my opinion, infinite layers to the Quran.
The more time you spend with it, the more it seems to give you. And so, as I went deeper into the Quran, I was just mesmerized by its structure, cohesiveness, and the
metaphors it employs that reflect my being so precisely.
What’s heartbreaking for me, though, is how Muslims have abandoned the Quran, turning it into an object of service. You don’t pay reverence to the Quran by kissing it and keeping it on the top shelf, covering it with beautiful cloths. No, that would be akin to showering your parents with hugs and kisses, but not paying any heed to what they ask of you.
Would you not call such a relationship hypocritical and selfish? Indeed, you would.
But that’s what our relationship with the Quran is: one of hypocrisy and selfishness. It is used as a tool to gain rewards by reading it in a language that most Muslims don’t even understand, and comes out of its fancy covering only at “blessed” times such as Ramadan, or at times of need – when someone has passed away.
As Ramadan is just around the corner, I implore you to read the Quran in a language you understand this time around, so that you could start disassociating cultural Islam from Quranic Islam.
Here is a passionate response I wrote,
outlining all that is wrong with the way we approach the Quran:
What was supposed to be a book that would bring mankind out of ignorance towards enlightenment–bringing with it a revolutionary message–you revolve around it, not understanding a word of what it says.
What was supposed to be a book that was meant to transform your heart, you don’t even let it cross your brain.
What was supposed to be a book with a universal message, you utter religious statements in Arabic, somehow supposing that Arabic language is holy and advocate Arab supremacy.
What was supposed to be a book that
discouraged dogmas, you drink from a glass of water that you blew Quranic verses in, expecting it to heal you.
What was supposed to be a book advocating skepticism and critical thinking, you fear that thinking in matters of faith may lead you away from Islam.
What was supposed to be a book discouraging sectarianism and promoting unity, you kill your fellow Muslims in its name, and yell “Allahu Akbar!”
What was supposed to be a book advocating freedom of belief, you disregard it and
demand blasphemers and apostates to be killed.
What was supposed to be a book advocating pluralism, you feel threatened by differences and push for uniformity.
What was supposed to be a book prohibiting child and forced marriages, you justify them through fabricated accounts of the messenger and sometimes, your culture.
What was supposed to be a book that
advocated self-control, you partially blame the women who are raped and hasten to cover your women from head to toe.
What was supposed to be a book that
encouraged you to follow the character of the messenger, you have twisted it to imply following the cultural norms that were prevalent in the time of the messenger.
What was supposed to be a book that
advocated activism, you remain passive and pray for divine intervention to happen.
What was supposed to be a book that was fully detailed, you attach numerous books to it – claiming, without these books, the Quran is incomplete and hard to understand.
What was supposed to be a book that asked you to be wary of religious leaders, you have changed it into a book that can only be
interpreted by these religious leaders.
What was supposed to be a book of values, you have changed it into a book of hollow rituals and shortcuts to heaven.
What was supposed to be a book advocating accountability for your actions, you have changed it into a book that will intercede on your behalf.
Quran is a book that is read widely, a book that is– at times– interpreted wildly, a book that is understood hardly.
Sometimes, on a quiet night, I can almost hear the Quran weeping. Will you then, embrace it holistically, and release itself from its sorrows?

Surah Hud: Chapter 11 (line 80-90) Hud

80. He said, “If only I had the strength to stop you, or could rely on some strong support.”

81. They said, “O Lot, we are the envoys of your Lord; they will not reach you. So set out with your family during the cover of the night, and let none of you look back, except for your wife. She will be struck by what will strike them. Their appointed time is the morning. Is not the morning near?”

82. And when Our command came about, We turned it upside down, and We rained down on it stones of baked clay.

83. Marked from your Lord, and never far from the wrongdoers.

84. And to Median, their brother Shuaib. He said, “O my people, worship God; you have no god other than Him. And do not short measure or short weight. I see you in good circumstances, but I fear for you the agony of an encompassing Day.”

85. “O my people! Give full measure and full weight, in all fairness, and do not cheat the people out of their rights, and do not spread corruption in the land.

86. What is left by God is best for you, if you are believers. And I am not a guardian over you.”

87. They said, “O Shuaib, does your prayer command you that we abandon what our ancestors worshiped, or doing with our wealth what we want? You are the one who is intelligent and wise.”

88. He said, “O my people, have you considered? What if I have clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me good livelihood from Himself? I have no desire to do what I forbid you from doing. I desire nothing but reform, as far as I can. My success lies only with God. In Him I trust, and to Him I turn.”

89. “O my people, let not your hostility towards me cause you to suffer what was suffered by the people of Noah, or the people of Hud, or the people of Saleh. The people of Lot are not far away from you.”

90. “And ask your Lord for forgiveness, and repent to Him. My Lord is Merciful and Loving.”

My interpretation:

Gabriel is told that although the people of Lot were destroyed, Lot and Abraham and his family were saved by the angels. There is an indication there was some sort of fight and the men protected them while Lot and his family ran away from the city. His family came with, except for his wife who was told to stay back because of some secret they must have known about her. I have a theory that Lot’s wife was also immoral and part of the people of Lot’s sinfulness.

It says the town was rained on by baked stones, which to me mean stones on fire-meteorite showers. So this is how these town was destroyed. God uses laws of nature to rebalance things in the world and universe it seems.

Muhammad is told of another civilization with a messenger named Shuaib. Shuaib was chosen to be the messenger of Median and he felt something was coming. He was correct on his intuition. The people were living in sin, and there were hardly any good people left in this town. When God sent them a good messenger, they asked him about the abandonment of what their ancestors worshipped and the wealth they desired.

He told them about the civilizations that were not far from that one and how they all disappeared because of the wrath of God. He felt something deep within, that their nation was next if they did not change their ways. Shuaib told them not to have hostility towards him as a messenger only and that they should be wise to heed his warnings because it has happened before to other nations not too far from them.

Shuiab asked for the people to seek forgiveness of the One true Lord and to repent.

Surah Hud: Chapter 11 (line 60-70) Hud

60. And they were pursued by a curse in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, Aad blasphemed against their Lord-so away with Aad, the people of Hud.

61. And to Thamood, their brother Saleh. He said, “O my people, worship God, you have no god other than Him. He initiated you from the earth, and settled you in it. So seek His forgiveness, and repent to Him. My Lord is Near and Responsive.”

62. They said, “O Saleh, we had hopes in you before this. Are you trying to prevent us from worshiping what our parents worship? We are in serious doubt regarding what you are calling us to.”

63. He said, “O my people, have you considered? If I stand upon clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me mercy from Him, who would protect me from God, if I disobeyed Him? You add nothing for me except loss.”

64. “O my people, this is the she-camel of God, a sign for you. Let her graze on God’s land, and do not harm her, lest an imminent punishment overtakes you.”

65. But they hamstrung her, and so He said, “Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. This is a prophecy that is infallible.”

66. Then, when Our command came, We saved Saleh and those who believed with him, by a mercy from Us, from the disgrace of that day. Your Lord is the Strong, the Mighty.

67. And the Scream struck those who transgressed, and they became motionless bodies in their homes.

68. As if they had never prospered therein. Indeed, Thamood rejected their Lord, so away with Thamood.

69. Our messengers came to Abraham with good news. They said, “Peace.” He said, “Peace.” Soon after, he came with a roasted calf.

70. But when he saw their hands not reaching towards it, he became suspicious of them, and conceived a fear of them. They said, “Do not fear, we were sent to the people of Lot.”

My interpretation:

The people of Aad did not listen to their messenger chosen to give them the message. They failed the test of being humble enough to receive it and change their ways. They were destroyed and no longer are a strong civilization, with the karma that they have called to them.

Now Gabriel is being told about a place called Thamood and their messenger Saleh. Saleh tried to get the people of Thamood to stop worshiping the deities that their ancestors worshipped. But they did not listen, and cultural identity was more important than listening to this messenger’s revelations to help set Thamood back on track.

Saleh was given a prophecy either by dream, divine inspiration or angel visitation to not kill this one cow grazing on the land as a symbol of faith. He warned the people and they cut the cow in the hamstrings, causing it to die in torment.

God next told Saleh another prophecy that the people had three days in the home before they were destroyed in a natural way with destruction. Except Saleh and the others who believed and were good.

Line 67 is very interesting, it says Scream in this translation, and I looked in others it is “shriek”, “great sound” in other versions. So there was some type of noisy disaster that made them die in their homes the people of Thamood. When you think of Pompeii, people were killed by the ash and smoke inside of their buildings. Or when you think of earthquakes, people could be hit in the head with things and killed this way. Either way, these people were warned and now they lay dead.

Although I have great care for others, I understand where God is coming from in this. These people transgressed which is the key word. Nothing gets me more angry when I see brutal killings, sacrifices, rapes, pillages, immorality done in the name of ancient paganism as archeologists have discovered. Not all were barbarous people, but not all were peaceful at all. The Quran will get to the part of discerning between the two types of pagan civilizations later in the revelations.

Line 69 is about to go into the story of Lot and the warnings from the angels sent to destroy this immoral civilization. It is interesting to note that the angels did not eat, but must have appeared as men since they surprised Abraham thinking they would eat the roasted calf, like all humans would at that time during such gratitude of food in this area. So here we learn Angels may look human if God wills it, but they do not eat or take in physical pleasures of the material world.

This is where Thamood or Thamud is supposed to have been. There rock carved buildings are still available to see as ruins these days.

thamud
